An error occurred while saving the comment homie commentedMaybe try:
http://userstyles.org/styles/87850/the-old-reader-unbold-unread-postsbut I think this might have been solved by The Old Reader by adding "do not mark loaded items as read" setting. Someone should clean up this uservoice ;)

An error occurred while saving the comment homie commentedI double that. This or a little button next to the title. Google Reader had a button on the right side of the entry, but this led me many times to opening wrong article. I will probably dig into userscripts if this won't get implemented.
Also important: middle clicking should mark article as read! Left clicking should act the same as middle clicking OR open article in the same window (and still mark as read).

An error occurred while saving the comment homie commented@1. I've tweaked and ported Vector's custom style to the Stylish standard which is recommended by the The Old Reader dev on the community support page.
http://userstyles.org/styles/89947/the-old-reader-sidebar-custom-width@2. I've found this style suiting my needs:

Confirmed, probably unrelated to The Old Reader. I'm not sure which behavior you point to be better. If you want Chrome behavior in Firefox then just use middle-click instead of control-click ;)
