  1. Disable automaticl scrolling for small posts that fit into the screen

Disable scrolling for small posts (when I expand them via mouse). In Google Reader I can expand/collapse without moving the mouse cursor. But in TOR even these posts are scrolled to the top, and I have to move the mouse again :(

  5. When viewing a single feed, there's no indicator of how many posts are left. I can only see the number of posts in a folder or over all.

When you have a lot of folders, with many feeds inside, sometimes you click on the feed name of a particular post, causing the UI to show you all posts that are from that feed. Unlike Google Reader, though, once you're looking at a single feed's stream of posts, you cannot see how many articles/posts are in the feed.

For instance, I have a folder with tech blogs. Sometimes are viewing a few posts, I click on the Slashdot feed, singling it out. The Old Reader UX does the right thing and shows me all Slashdot posts. It even shows…

  6. Inline install prompt for Chrome extension

The website should detect if a user has Chrome and doesn't yet have the extension/app, and prompt to install them.

    Implementation guidelines: https://developers.google.com/chrome/web-store/docs/inline_installation

  7. Add subscription in batches

I would love to see a function which allows me to add multiple subscriptions, e.g. one for each line in a textarea field.

I know that there is an import function but I've a collection of RSS feeds in a text document which I now either have to add one at the time or convert into an OPML file and then import it, both is quite time consuming.

  8. Smart folders

I'd love for there to be a way to define smart folders, such as "Only today's posts", "Only this week's posts", calculated by the user's current location / timezone.

  9. keyboard shortcut for next new post

Since the feeds are updated with posts at differing times, there are new posts that get lost among already read/old/recent posts when the reader updates. Instead of assigning j,n/k,p for next and previous posts, it would be convenient to have the ability to jump to the next new or unread post with (n,p) and then keep (j,k) for next and previous post.

  10. speed up the UI when rearranging feeds

The UI hangs when I am rearranding a feed (e.g. dragging and dropping a feed into a folder or between folders). I have to keep the mouse pressed until it shows signs of moving.

  11. Make the Titles a different color than the article text

Just so it's easier to see where a post ends when you're scrolling past it. I believe the ones in Google Reader were blue. You could do green!

  12. "Mark all as read" shouldn't mark articles I've just marked as unread

I imported my feeds list from Google Reader some time before it closed and continued to read feeds there. And now I switched to The Old Reader, so now I have a lot of "unread" articles. So I'm opening feed by feed and list articles until I reach seen items. I've marked some of them as unread to read them some time later because I've seen them in GReader but also didn't come to actually read them. And once I've reached items I've read in GReader I clicked Mark all as read because there left 100+ items below. But It…

  13. All posts marked read problem with feeds with long articles

I have a problem that sometimes all posts are marked read when I open one/some of the top posts. I suspect this happens with feeds with long articles.

Conditions: I use usually next item down arrow. Mark read when scroll is on (but like I said: I have openen only the top posts). Firefox.

For example this has happened many times with feed:

  14. Rename feed from feed page

I know you can double click on the feed name in the sidebar, but with lots of subscriptions I don't want to have to go hunting for it, I'd rather just rename it inline on the feed page.

  16. Search feed titles

It would be nice if search could also display a list of feed names that matched the criteria, to allow me to get to a particular feed easily.

Currently, if I need to copy a feed URL and it has no unread posts, then I have to go to: Settings > Untick unread only > Save > Scroll to find the feed I want > Copy URL > Settings > Retick unread only > Save.

  17. Show randomly picked starred entries on the homepage.

Right now, starred posts are only there if you go looking for them. Adding more stuff might make the homepage a bit overcrowded though.

  18. Repair content display when there are both LTR and RTL writing systems in the feed item

When a feed contains both LTR and RTL content, all the content is aligned to the right. It would be better to have each content aligned to its adequate margin.

I created this dummy feed where the problem can be seen, based on another feed where I found it: http://suspensao.blog.br/feed.xml

  19. Let me find my contacts via Twitter, instead of just FB or Google.

Simply because most other services let you use Twitter contacts, and I'm sure I have more followers than FB friends using the service.

  20. search by article's url

I want to mark (star, like) article I read in my (amazon kindle) reader
I have title and url, but (in case of my favorite server) they're quite often changing article titles, so in case when in tor is article not found I must open its web page (url), copy (part of its) title and search again = being able to search for url directly in tor it will be easier for me
