something like starred Items
it could be beautiful if it could be possible to have something similar to "starred items" function and import it from google reader.
1 voteLooks like a duplicate of this:

how to import by ipad?
For ipad, when press select files, you can select only from photo galley, so cannot select subscribe.xml files. Therefore, I want to ask you how to do with ipad.
1 voteiOS does not allow users to select other than picture files, there is nothing we can do.

IE8
Asking me to upgrade my browser is a non-starter as I connect from work which currently mandates IE8 as our browser. I would love to be able to dictate to my 100k+ employee firm what browser we should use...

email liked items
When read an item I like I used to send it automatically by email to a friend or even to my own mailbox.
Is there something similar with your reader.

1 voteHi,
Please feel free to create localization using simple steps described here:
-
Provide a way to edit subscriptions without double-click or drag.
Neither Chrome or Firefox can handle those on Android. (Everything seems to work beautifully though.)

fix the mark all as read button
It shouldn't have a checkbox. That indicates a choice, whereas if I actually click on the button thinking I want to turn off whatever this option is, I lose all my unread posts (yes, I can go back and show all etc., but that's not the point).
Also, it would be nice if the button was located somewhere else. people with Google reader habits might click it by accident to refresh the feed. This is, of course, a minor quibble.Great service overall, thanks!

“I would also like to point out that options like “mark all as read” should require secret code that is stored in a vault and at least two people to press buttons simultaneously ;) This or something like popup confirmation box. I am truly paranoid that someday I will wipe out a feed where I neglected to read few articles." -

Add AdSense ads so that free users can contribute by clicking on them
Instead of not allowing users for free when you can no longer handle the traffic. A lot of users live in countries where access to online payment systems are limited. That will give them an opportunity to indirectly contribute to the service.

Google logout at same time as TheOldReader
This is similar to the autologoff on browse shutdown idea but slightly different.
I don't know if this is possible, but now when I log into the Old Reader with Google, I stay logged into Google after I manually logout of the Old Reader. I would like one of the settings to be the option to also logout of Google when I logout of the Old Reader.
Thanks!
1 voteThere is no technical way to implement this.

Remove the social networking aspect from this
I don't want to follow people and I don't want people to follow me
1 voteWe can remove them only with The Old Reader itself. The whole idea of this project is to bring back the old social features of RSS reader.

Fix a small typo in Spanish translation
In the main screen, the button to show all elements says "Mostar todos los elementos" instead of "Mostrar todos los elementos". There's an "r" missing in "Mostrar".
1 voteOur translations are managed by the community. Feel free to adjust it yourself at https://github.com/krasnoukhov/theoldreader-i18n

show feed name next to title in Trending
and allow me to click through to the whole feed
1 voteUnfortunately, shared posts can belong to private RSS feeds that users might not want to share.
However, every post includes a link to the website, so you can go there and check if it has an RSS feed you can subscribe to.
We hope this helps.

show in the list of subscriptions only those ones for which there are updates
It seems now that all the subscriptions show in the list, no matter if there are updates or not. One of the great efficiencies of RSS is that it doesn't show me things that I don't need to check. Please fix!
