Can I add a "me too"? It happened to me this morning, which is the first I've accessed it since yesterday's updates. Related perhaps?

Very annoying indeed. I have just arrived to the Old Reader a few days ago, but now already have 9 ghost posts like these.

This also happen to me. I've finished scrolling through my unread articles, but there are still unread counts in feed groups. When I click the group, there still are some articles that I haven't seen in 'all' view.

I can verify the comment made by @Anonymous. The feeds I added manually before my import was completed are problematic. The feed will have new items, but because I have the old reader configured to show only those folders/feeds that have unread items and because the count is somehow incorrect, those feeds added manually before the merge remain hidden even when unread items exist.

I have this same issue and I have times where it says I only have 1 or 2 unread posts but if I select 'All Items' I actually have more unread posts that aren't showing up as 'unread' in the count.

Same to me, some of my feeds have unread items if I click on them, but they don't have any count displayed beside the item. The "You have x unread posts" on the home screen is also not counting them.

I did an import of my Google Reader feeds, but since I was 44000th in the waiting queue, I've manually added some feeds. The feeds that I manually added (that were also pending to be imported and then got "merged") are the ones that the count isn't working for me now. They did work before the import was completed.

I had a feed with 4 unread items, but the counter showed only 2. I read one of the items, it was correctly marked as read, and the counter is at 1!

I've had that happen a lot. Usually it sorts itself out over time, but yeah, it's annoying and I would appreciate a fix as well.

Similarly, there is often a discrepancy between the unread counter in my Google Chrome icon and the Old Reader site itself. Example: Just now, the little icon read "1" unread article. I clicked through, and The Old Reader actually had "16" unread items. (The counter then updated itself.) This too happens a lot, in all directions:

- Counter says there are unread items but TOR shows none
- Counter says there are X unread items but there are actually fewer
- Counter says there are X unread items but there are actually more
