"Keep unread" checkbox
Please add a "keep unread" checkbox to each feed item. If selected, the item should be kept unread even if "Mark all as read" is used or "Scrolling through posts marks them as read" is active and the item is scrolled through.
This is a feature Google Reader unfortunately never had, but the old version of Bloglines had it and it was missed by many users when old style Bloglines was no more. It would be a great addition to The Old Reader.

Don't know why you say GR didn't have this, it's why I married GR years ago. Feeddler supported this brilliantly.
This one feature has become the deal breaker for me with every feed manager candidate. I'm tearing my hair out trying to test drive these things with items I want to keep unread and segregated by feed/folder/tag/subject without being forced to just star or send to another service only to be forced to reorganize there for later per-subject reading.
