Refresh all feeds
There should be a "Refresh all feeds" button.

“Refresh all feeds” button can only work in a reasonable amount of time for users that have a very small number of feeds (10-15 at most). An additional requirement will be for RSS feeds that are refreshed to serve their XML files very quickly.
Please keep in mind that voting for this feature, you automatically vote for imposing a very low limit of feed count per user.

I am using Google Reader at the same time as theoldreader and it is apparanent that theoldreader definitely lags on the feed updates. Once per day is not a reasonable update rate. I could live with once per hour. Limiting the number of feeds to 10-15 is also unreasonable. I am happy with the way Google Reader performs. Please make theoldreader at least meet this performance.

What does "very low" mean to the TOR team? 5 feeds? 15 feeds? 50 feeds?
What about creating a category of "favorite" or "priority" feeds and allowing a Refresh function for those? (Note: NOT a folder of "favorite"/"priority" feeds, since there may be feeds across different folders that we want to refresh.)

@Sean: good news is, you don't have to. All feeds are refreshed automatically in background.

I subscribe to several dozen feeds. I cant manually refresh them every time I open the application.
Sorry, but it's a deal breaker.

One of key features of any RSS reader is(should be), that it keeps me posted about all the new stuff. So, either it should update often and reliably (I would be fine with the once-per-half-hour interval) but it does not: see
http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3774389-show-when-a-feed-was-last-refreshed
or let me manually update my feeds - either all my feeds or subset of my feeds as suggested in
http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3770576-folder-refresh-button
or at least let me know which of my feeds need to be refreshed (what is suggested in the first link). -

I need this.

Have a folder level refresh all. That should help keep it quick for people. You would refresh the folder before you start reading through it.

Yep. I just compared TOR feeds with my current (the same) feeds in GR and it looks im gonna pack up my things elsewhere if it doesnt change in the next month or so.

In ability to refresh at a higher rate is a deal breaker for me. I have a few breaking news rss feeds that must update preferably like push email. And I am surprised that there is no manual refresh button for all feeds and that there are only a handful requesting this feature.

Seconded, refresh rate needs to be increased.

I would also appreciate this feature. The automatic idea is nice, but a manual option is sometimes necessary.

Please add a "Refresh All Feeds" button.

This is the one thing preventing me from using your service. So far, everything else has been fine.

Would like to petition that this be re-instated as a request. I agree with the logic of the previous commenters.

Whoa, once a day? Like everyone I'm looking for a google reader replacement and already feel like their once per hour refresh rate is okay-but-not-great. :(

I would also like a refresh all button, or the option to set the interval lower than 30 minutes.

Agreed with that! Just dropped from Google Reader Debacle and this is a real issue. I use one of my folders for important feeds that should be read many times during a day, at least a folderwise refresh would help a lot!

I agree. Why have a refresh button for an individual feed at all with that reasoning? If you have a button for refreshing an individual feed, you can certainly add one for all subscriptions
