You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Dont show feeds on All Items when they are in a closed/colapsed folder.

    When you close a folder from feeds, they sould not be seen on the All Items.

    It's a good way to see multiple feeds, keeping those that you don't want to see at the moment away.

  2. Disable custom scrollbars

    I prefer the default system scrollbars in Firefox to the floating green scrollbar in TOR, especially since it is not displayed always and lacks the up and down arrows. I would disable this in my browser settings if I could, but I think the site would function better without the current, custom scrollbars.

  3. Aphabetical Sorting Within A Folder

    Please allow users to sort their subscription (not only folders) in alphabetical order.

    Example: Folder News has 100 feeds. If subscription #1 posts an article starting with "Nasa discovers ..." at 1:03 PM, the subscription # 2 posts same article at 3:45 PM, we dont want to read the same article twice.

    Alphabetical sorting will save us time to not read same thing twice.

  4. Refresh button for all items.

    There is a refresh button when scrolling through just a single feed. Why not one when scrolling through "all items?"

  6. minimize profile panel

    Is there a way to minimize the profile panel so that it doesn't take up a third of the real estate on my monitor? Thanks.

  7. Duplicate posts in trending section

  8. Requesting that all keyboard shortcuts be accessible on one side of the keyboard.

    I didn't realize that I used this on Google's reader, but all the shortcuts I use are on the right hand portion of the keyboard. Thus, you don't have to be perched over your keyboard when browsing the reader. Can I request that all shortcuts be executable with only one hand? Currently, I'm missing having the toggle-view shortcut, which is mapped to 'x' instead of Google's 'o'.

  9. Option to open a specific folder directly when going to the home page

    I have one main folder with news which I regularly read. The other folders don't have as much priority and I skim through those when I got some extra time. The "Home" section doesn't have any value for me, I'm not even looking at it, it's the list of news items that count and is the first thing I go to.

    It would be great if an option was introduced to take you to the specified folder directly as soon as you go to "theoldreader.com" and are logged in.

  10. Get rid of the "Unsubscribe" button for folders

    Having an unsubscribe button seems completely unnecessary, but potentially very dangerous. It seems more likely a person would use it by accident than on purpose. And if people think there actually is some use, perhaps turning it on or off could be an option in the settings menu.

    I am now using a different Facebook account but I can't find an option to disconnect my old one and connect my new one.

  13. don't dock items at the top while scrolling

    When I scroll items using the j/k or shift-j/shift-k keyboard shortcuts, I find that the next item is moved all of a sudden to the top to become the first one in the list. I find this bit distracting. In Google Reader, the item used to stay where it was and simple keep moving downwards.

    It's hard to explain the actual behaviour, but the difference is immediately recognizable if one were to scroll using keyboard in both The Old Reader and Google Reader

  15. Make a mobile view compatible with Opera Mini.

    As Opera Mini doesn't support javascript properly, it's horrible to use The Old Reader on an older phone. It's not even possible to open a feed item.

  16. Allow sorting of posts by title (invaluable for web forum topic feeds)

    I follow a lot of web forum topics via RSS, as it's so much easier than visiting each website every day to see what replies have been posted to each topic.

    It's much easier to read these feeds if I can sort the posts in the same way that emails would show up in my inbox -- namely, the original topic post first, followed by replies. NetNewsWire v3 is the only app I have that currently allows me to do this (screenshot: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1802478/nnw-forum-feeds.png), but I'd love to move away from it to a service like yours that would that…

  18. Move the mp3 player...

    Hey Guys!
    Thanks for adding the mp3 player so fast!!!!
    Hate to ask a follow up, but if the mp3 player was on the left hand side of the screen, I could play a podcast while still reading and browsing. Right now, I have to start playing the mp3 and then open a new tab, so I can still go through my feeds.

  19. Configure set focus on comment box when shared

    I don't usually like put comments in my shares. It would be great if the focus in the comment box is configurable. So i can share and continue pressing 'j' to read more articles.

  20. Add option for image previews in list mode / tile mode

    One possible aesthetic improvement would be to display a scaled down image from each post in a slightly more spread-out version of the list view. Or better yet (imo) add an additional option for a tile / mosaic mode, similar to some other much-touted Google Reader alternatives. You might be deliberately avoiding the tile design bandwagon, but I at least think images help greatly in making a long line of posts more pleasant to navigate and go through.
