    Hello,

    The blog at https://fy.blackhats.net.au/ has an RSS feed at https://fy.blackhats.net.au/rss.xml

    When I try to add that URL to The Old Reader, I get

    Not sure why an exact URL results in this "no exact match found" message.

    Clicking that [Subscribe] button makes the button change to [Loading...], and then the error "No feeds found by that keyword or URL" appears.

  7. Don't show "Welcome back" message when an account has timed out.

    Whenever I go to theoldreader.com after not having been there for a while, I am greeted by a chirpy "Welcome back, <account name>"

    Except it's a log in screen. I'm not logged in, and yet my account name is displayed.

    Which means, tautologically, that my account information is being shown to people who have not identified themselves as me.

    It's a bad look, and also a breach of data privacy laws. ... It may be a minor issue if one argues that the exposure is small, but you're still definitely leaking private information to someone who has definitely not been…

  8. Evaluate your capta feature

    Provide something that works. I've tried 4 times to sign up for your service and I've clicked on motor cycles (twice), bridges, mountains and it still tells me that it's an invalid response.

  10. Allow an option to see embedded YouTube links logged in again

    Previously, embedded YouTube videos did not use the nocookie url. Now that they do, it is impossible to add videos in the feed to your own watch later list easily.

  11. Allow us to add Mastodon feeds

    You can get an RSS feed out of mastodon if you set the Accept header in the HTTP request to application/rss+xml when requesting their timeline- at the minute if we try to add the feed then this Accept header isn't set and you get the HTML page back.

    One possible option would be to use an accept header of application/rss+xml,text/html.

  12. Enable an alt-text addition when starring or sharing

    Please allow users to add alt-text to feed objects we star or share. The RSS feeds don't seem to pass through alt-text correctly, even when alt-text exists. It can be an easy copy-paste to make this service more accessible.

  13. Persist user sessions across server restarts

    It seems that whenever the server is restarted/updated, I get logged out. Can the user sessions be persisted to disk in those situations so that I don’t have to log in again?

  14. Toggle button for subscription list sidebar on left left or right

    Add a toggle button to move the subscription list between the left and right sides. This reduces the likelihood and severity of a sore right hand caused by always using the same hand to scroll (on touch-screen tablet)

  15. document your subscription plans

    I read the home page, the "learn more" / "Product tour" and I can find no mention of plans available or the cost. The only hint I got was the option to try "premium" free for a month on the signup page with an explanation that there are larger plans.

    I'd like use something I can support financially, but I'd like to know the cost up front.

  16. i am having a question to ask

    i am having 13 seperate emailids which i find them very difficult to manags, want to reuce them to say three or four emails
    can you help me how to go about it so that i can then peacefully mange my email ids. tanks and regards

  19. importing posts from tumblr and other "closed" social networks ?

    hello, i've just logged in after years, and was struck by the diversity and range of stuff on old internet blogs.

    Sadly a lot of these have died or moved on to social media platforms.
    Perhaps if there was a way to get posts from closed networks onto reader we could get a taste of the old internet without getting sucked into closed platforms and eternal scrolling.
    It's quite striking how much we have lost in the last couple of years.

    Maybe there's a different approach ? The current product is perfect but perhaps if there was a way to…
