Multiple UI issues after latest update
The reader has been resetting itself to Dark Mode periodically. It's a quick keystroke to change it back but it still seems like a weird issue. Happens anywhere from every couple of days to multiple times per day, no history clears or anything in between.
The (?) button and the Support option under the user profile also seem to be broken. Both cause the page to hang, accepting no futher inputs.
Thanks,

Enable a "View starred only" Filter Option for Each Feed
The user shall be able to filter a view to a single feed by starred items only.
[1] A "View starred" button will be displayed to the right of the current "Refresh" and "Mark all as read" buttons while the user is viewing the feed. [see mockup: https://goo.gl/jAtqKY]
[2] When the user selects the "View starred" button, the displayed items in the feed will only be the items the user has starred. In addition, the text in the "Viewed starred" button will change to read, "Unview starred".
[3] When the "View starred" filter is active, the individual items displayed…

Allow to select all items in a feed as unread (batch unread)
There should be some way to batch select all items in a feed as unread, perhaps in the /subscriptions page where there are already actions for each feed (i.e. rename/unsubscribe) in a drop-down next to each feed. That seems like a sensible place for it.
Numerous times I have accidentally marked large feeds as unread, with no sensible way to mark them as unread again.

search folders
being able to limit search to a folder would make everything perfect in the world

It would be great if there was a way to filter duplicate articles. I find myself seeing the same article several times

Add Tag to Pocket Integration
The Old Reader's Pocket integration is phenomenal. Simply hitting Star adds an article to Pocket queue. The only problem is that unless tags are added I have no way to telling if an article came from The Old Reader. It would be great if a tag is automatically added to the Pocket. Tag can be anything like theoldreader or user defined.

A way to "undo" Mark All As Read.
I've accidentally hit it too many times. I know people complained about the "are you sure?" dialogue box-- which blows my mind, since I'd LIKE an "are you sure?" pop up-- but maybe a way to ctrl-z it would solve the same problem?

Allow me to search all the way back.
This is what Google Reader did really well, and I feel a Google Reader substitute should do. I would pay for this (https://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3743628-charge-for-the-darn-thing-if-it-keeps-it-from-goin).
Google Reader saved every item it showed from the moment you subscribed to a feed. This allowed me to use GReader as a research tool. The Old Reader has stated it will only ‘store up to several hundred of posts per feed’. (https://theoldreader.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/146276-how-many-posts-per-feed-do-you-store-) That’s just not enough.
Some feeds I follow get over 30 updates per day. Think websites like The Next Web and MetaFilter. How many days will The Old Reader save?…

Manage folders and feeds
Pretty much like "subscriptions mass operations" [1] page but for folders creation/rename/organization. Would also merge these requests:
"Different colors for folders/feeds" [2]
"Collapse folders as the default view" [3]
"Allow folders to be arranged like individual feeds" [4]
"Per-feed display settings" [5][1] http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3435220-subscriptions-mass-operations
[2] http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3435285-different-colors-for-folders-feeds
[3] http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3566830-collapse-folders-as-the-default-view
[4] http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3743761-allow-folders-to-be-arranged-like-individual-feeds
[5] http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3738257-per-feed-display-settings1,154 votesThere’s now a subscription management page that allows you to unsubscribe from/move your subscriptions. You can get there by clicking on “Subscriptions” in the user name dropdown in the upper right.

Import starred.json from Google Reader's Takeout
Within the zip file that Google's Takeout provides there is a starred.json file available. i think lifehacker mentioned a way of turning them into HTML to make them bookmarks but his does not "gel with current workflows". I have no idea if in implementing googles reader api this comes as part of it - that is if you do implement their api. Maybe feedburner will be terminated after reader is shutdown so here is two website with a list of alternatives:

Provide a 'cut-down' mobile interface for smart phones / tablets
Google Reader provides a 'touch' [ https://www.google.com/reader/i/ ] and 'minimal' [ https://www.google.com/reader/m/ ] interface for smart phones / tablets.
It might be nice if an equivalent minimal interface for OldReader is also available to make browsing and reading feeds on such devices (with limited screen space) easier.

Repair content display when there are both LTR and RTL writing systems in the feed item
When a feed contains both LTR and RTL content, all the content is aligned to the right. It would be better to have each content aligned to its adequate margin.
I created this dummy feed where the problem can be seen, based on another feed where I found it: http://suspensao.blog.br/feed.xml

Open source code
It's a trend now.
Seriously, I want some improvements that I can make, so if code will be open, I think community can make a lot of work for this service.
Also some people do not want to give information about their interest to third partry companies, so they can host their own reader.
And no one will be able to close it out like Google Reader.672 votes -
Make the top nav more compact to create more room for reading.
One of my biggest pet peeves of Google Reader is the limited amount of space actually dedicated to reading room. I always wondered why they didn't implement the same options that Google Docs has, where you can toggle between a compact tool bar and the normal tool bar.
I know you guys are pushing to get other stuff done, but this would be awesome to implement down the road!

Wrap text in list view.
Using list view in a narrow window, like on a mobile display, truncates the posts subject lines. Mobile is my main use case where this matters, but you can reproduce it with a desktop browser just by resizing it to be too skinny to display the whole thing. On my phone in portrait mode, list view in unusable because most of the subject lines are too truncated to understand what they're about. While the full view works, it makes scrolling through busy feeds take too long, especially since it includes images.
In other words, make it like the Google Reader…

Make img title/alt text readable on mobile
When reading XKCD in theoldreader on iPad I can't see a way to make the img title text visible. Google Reader added a little + button which showsthe alt text, it would be great to have this in theoldreader as well. Thanks!
