Manage folders and feeds
Pretty much like "subscriptions mass operations" [1] page but for folders creation/rename/organization. Would also merge these requests:
"Different colors for folders/feeds" [2]
"Collapse folders as the default view" [3]
"Allow folders to be arranged like individual feeds" [4]
"Per-feed display settings" [5]

There’s now a subscription management page that allows you to unsubscribe from/move your subscriptions. You can get there by clicking on “Subscriptions” in the user name dropdown in the upper right.

Note that number 3 and 4 above are already in "completed" state.

if anyone knows how to add or arrange feeds alphabetically, please answer this for me. I know you can drop and drag, but that would take days.

If you want some colors, I made this: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/165834

Dragging something allllll the way to the bottom to create a new folder is a super huge pain. Organization is key to efficiency and productivity. The faster I can add, read, organize, access and use my feeds, the more productive I am, the more money I make, and the more I can afford to donate to awesome companies like yours :) Also, (although I need to search through help more), would like way to delete stuff, thinking it would be easier on your storage issue? I haven't researched this though through this page or your help...but did want to mention that. But folder management! Yes! Yes! Yes!

Folder management is deeply problematic. I'd need to rapidly have the ability to assign a new feed to an already created folder (drag and drop is much too slow when you have a bunch of folders).
And when you want to include the feed in a new folder, you would have to do that précisely at the begining, just after pressing the add button. -

alphabetical order please!!

Folder Management, as is currently implemented, is better in theory than in practice. Or, at least it is in Pale Moon, the x64 variant of Firefox, which did have problems earlier that didn't exist in Chrome. The target dropping was/is? haphazard and after starting a THIRD pass to get everything in the correct folder, I gave up. A sub-menu from a drop-down button including MOVE TO FOLDER ..., CREATE FOLDER, and (THUMBS UP) COLOUR FOLDER would make things much more manageable. Greedy little user, aren't I? As with other users here, the folders should be collapsible by default and a user option for sort order within (Alpha, Date Created, Date Last Updated, Most Unread, Most Total, Manual etc.) should be added. And I would default to Alpha, since RSS Feed users are a little anal about organization from the get-go, aren't we? This is still an effort worth fighting for. But the continued 'just-missed' implementation of certain ideas beggars suggesting that it might be wiser to poll users on feature implementation possibilities and get feedback before expending energy on a side-road that will have to be backtracked from. I know drag-and-drop is not fun to implement, but I fear it might be too wonky to work on the multiplicity of platforms and browsers. But I could be wrong.

Having "collapse folders" as the default view is especially important for mobile devices! Right now, all the folders are open until I close them, and having all those feeds visible on a tiny mobile screen is a big problem.

Please Eduardo add this one: http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/3809152-aggregate-feed-for-folder

It would also be nice to hide feeds that have nothing new to reed.

yes - it would be fantastic, if we could create folders to organize the feeds!

I would definitely like to be able to change colors, particularly for the feed names. Black on green would be much easier to read than white on green.

I too am unable to create a folder. I used to have my feeds organised in separate folder, ie, one for Art, one for Science, one for News, one for Blogs etc... Now I just get all my feeds mixed and even though they say that creating a folder is easy, the fact is I follow the steps they advise (drag the feed etc) but nothing happens...

+1 to this idea, I cannot even figure out how to make folders right now, but all of these ideas would improve organization

May I add:
- import OPML directly into folder
- a RSS "aggregate" feed (output) for every folder -

I'd like a settings menu like in Google Reader for each folder and feed, so if I'm on a feed, I can go into that menu and move it to a different folder. The rename unsubscribe, sort and view options could also go in that menu. The menu approach may also be better for items when more social network sharing options are added - an equivalent to Google Reader's "send to" menu.
