Search for multiple words in articles
When I search for articles with multiple words, it does an "or" search (ie: it searches for articles with any of the words, when I want to find all of the words). I've tried using boolean eg, searching for word1 AND word2 AND word3, and it does not return any results. Would be great if there was an easy way to search for all words in an article.

Add a style to current/active item
Unless I'm missing something, there is nothing to distinguish the current/selected item from any other unread item (the left border goes away). Something to distinguish it would be nice - or even just add an active class to that item so I can do it with my user css :)

List view width adjustments
The current list view has 3 parts, specified as:
120px, 58%, 66pxThis mixture of % and fixed pixels corrupts the display on small screens, and wastes space on large screen.
Please remove the "4 hours ago" on the right side, and this allows for a nice: 20% (feed title) 80% (article title) layout.
This keeps all titles properly justified, and using all available space, at all screen sizes.
(This also fixes: "Wrap text in list view", and many others)

Show read subscriptions
If I enable the option to hide read subscriptions, and I want to access that subscription to find a certain post, there is no way to select it without disabling that option.

Sharing a collection of articles in a magazine like formate.
I need to have a feature that allow users to share a few articles in a magazine formate. I want to tag them as "Week-1 June-13" or like "Diabetes", "Childbirth". Then if my followers want they can just click on any tag and find these articles that I have tagged. This just simple tagging. I used to do it on Google Reader through exporting the feeds to Google Blogger and then share it with my subscribers (people who want me to select articles every week for them from around 150 feeds)

MAKE IT MORE OBVIOUS you don't support old browsers like IE 8!!!!
I just spent all this time setting up an account and importing my Google Reader data---only to find the Old Reader is unusable because my browser is outdated. Grrrr! Very annoying! You can do better than that. I have visited other reader websites that told me up front what they did and didn't support.

allow feeds to load beyond import time
my feeds are only listing items as far back as around the day i imported from google reader. scrolling down farther than may 30 or 31 displays this message: "No posts below this line. Probably you have read them all." first of all, i have not read them all, and second, even if i have, i still want to be able to go back to them. right now i have a lot of feeds with unread posts from last week that i cannot see.

When viewing a single feed, there's no indicator of how many posts are left. I can only see the number of posts in a folder or over all.
When you have a lot of folders, with many feeds inside, sometimes you click on the feed name of a particular post, causing the UI to show you all posts that are from that feed. Unlike Google Reader, though, once you're looking at a single feed's stream of posts, you cannot see how many articles/posts are in the feed.
For instance, I have a folder with tech blogs. Sometimes are viewing a few posts, I click on the Slashdot feed, singling it out. The Old Reader UX does the right thing and shows me all Slashdot posts. It even shows…

Show only subscriptions with new posts
I'd like to be able to see a list of my subscriptions that shows only those feeds that have new content. Is this possible?

Please unbold/grey/change color of headlines that have been opened and read.
Please differentiate between headlines that have been clicked on, and read, as opposed to those that aren't clicked on.
It seems the green tag (unread) disappears after the headline is loaded, but headlines should only be marked "read" after being clicked on.

Add favicons to article list
The favicon (optional) would be nice to the left of or instead of the feed title in the article list would be nice. A minor and cosmetic addition I know.

Non-.db Image Cache for offline viewing
I'd like to see an image cache that stores images associated with a post for offline viewing. I'd also like to see this be just a standard cache instead of an .db cache which you can't easily sift through like you can a regular cache folder in Finder.

Improve keyboard next/previous subscription or folder
When I press shift-j or shift-k after I empty a feed and it disappears from the list of feeds, instead of starting from the top of my feeds list, it should start from where it left off. I only show unread feeds, so maybe it works properly when that is off.

allow pasting OPML data into text area
File upload is broken in some mobile browsers, like Google Chrome. As a mitigation, we could allow users to paste the OPML data into a text area as an alternative.

Implement OStatus
If you could implement OStatus (or a similar open social messaging standard) to replace the internal sharinf functionality, people doesn't need to find all their friends in TheOldReader, they can just post to their existing network...
