Per-feed and per-folder display settings
Some of the settings (view unread vs. view all, feed display order, etc.) appear inconsistent in whether they apply to ALL feeds (i.e. they are global settings) or just the currently active feed. For example, there are certain blogs where I would like to have the older posts display first, so I can read it sequentially if I miss a post or two, but other blogs where I would like the NEWER posts to display first. Sort order appears to be a global setting, though, so I have to switch back and forth each time I change which blog I'm looking at.

Yes please! this would be very handy so my twitter feeds can be oldest to newest and my blog feeds can be newest to oldest!

I've been coming back to The Old Reader once every month or so hoping you guys added this feature so that I could switch away from Feedly. Alas, still no change :(

Please do this. News items should be newest to oldest, but webcomics should be oldest to newest. There must be plenty of other examples.

I would love the ability to choose what displays in a folder and in what order. Star, if it exists, plus Note, plus Title or plus Title only if there is no Note, plus Source, plus link, etc. I'd also love the ability to add individual posts to folders rather than entire feeds.

The magazine-like display of Feedly and Blogroll is stupid for most things, but it actually makes sense for feeds that are primarily images. It would be nice if we could choose a "gallery" display style for certain image-centric feeds.

It would be fine with me if it was just 'per folder'. Stuff in a given folder is usually one way or the other.
Still trying to figure out where the global setting is though!

I agree with Scott as that is pretty much exactly my situation.

One more on this. If I only have two unread items in a feed and click to that feed, only those two items should appear. I see the green highlight on the left of the unread items, but it'd be easier if the read items just weren't shown at all. Think about just quickly scrolling through all items in the feed until you get to the "bottom" should mean the bottom of the unread items.

Any chance of pop ups above the buttons showing sort order and so on?

Yeah, per-feed or per-folder display order settings are pretty essential for me. I read webcomics old->new, but everything else new->old, so a global setting won't cut it.

Currently all settings are pretty consistent, because they apply to all feeds.
As we understand, you would like to be able to configure display settings for each feed separately, so we have adjusted the title of this feature request accordingly.
