YES PLEASE. This is how EVERY reader works. If I can add one thing - use N and P to scroll a highlight (not the page itself). That was GReader. Therefore your eyes can do the scrolling and your highlight can catch up. When I use N to scroll down, all the prior headlines disappear.

Agree. This is major flaw in the design.

Totally agree. There's currently no way to differentiate between what's been read and what's still unread, other than to click the RSS feed again. I've found this to be the only major problem with TheOldReader.

I give my vote to for this. To use userstypes is not a solution. Event better is except un-bold headline title after read to leave only gray border and background on post to be white

I would give this all 10 votes if I could. It's really hard on the eyes to distinguish between read and unread messages. I also agree that the feed labels should be highlighted much less prominently - IMO, the fewer distractions to the main content, the better.

I inadvertently duplicated this request at http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/forums/187017-feature-requests/suggestions/4179578-make-read-feed-titles-regular-font - would be great to be able to remove that so the developers are not tracking two of the same requests.

I agree that there isn't a clear distinction between read and unread items. The fact that the feed label in front of the article title has to same colour as the much smaller unread indication does not add to this.

Some options that come to mind, in addition to switching from a bold font to a regular one:

- Make the feed labels less prominent by giving it a different or lighter colour compared to the unread indication.
- Use a different background colour for the complete article line item for read and unread items.

the GReader way of making clear which items are read and unread is (maybe the only) one feature I am missing at the moment from this great service
