I suggest you ...

  3. support feeds with broken hostnames

    Old Reader doesn't currently support feeds with technically broken hostnames like username-.tumblr.com/rss while Google Reader and several other readers do.

    I'd really love to see Old Reader as a complete replacement for Google Reader and for that I think at a minimum you need to be able to support all the same feeds.

  4. Refresh button and 'r' key not working the same

    The 'r' key does not refresh my feeds. If I press 'r', the screen fades for a moment, then returns, but does not update the feed. If I then immediately click the 'Refresh' button, I get several new items in the feed. This happens in many feeds, but one example is: http://rss.briefing.com/Investor/RSS/StoryStocks.xml. Please fix

  6. Hide who my followers are.

    Need to be able to hide who my followers are for safety reasons. Same reason that G+ got into so much trouble at first.

  7. make logging in easier and possible with the keyboard only (without mouse click).

    It would be great if I could store a link to theoldreader.com that already includes the email address I wanted to use for logging in. For example Google reader supported links like reader.google.com/?email=my@address.com, in which case the email address was automatically filled in and the password field focused.
    Also a similar effect could be achieved if at least there was a keyboard shortcut or direct link to the login page (eliminating the need to grab the mouse and click after entering the url).

    It would be nice if you could support xml podcasts such as :

  9. Put a "mark all as read" button at the bottom of the list of posts.

    If there are a lot of long posts it takes a long time to scroll all the way back to the top on Android.

  11. Google Calendar feed coming through in German

    Looks like you are stripping the "?hl=en" from the end of my Google Calendar feed and instead adding "?max-results=25". For whatever reason, this is making the "Where/When/Description" labels to get posted to The Old Reader in German rather than English.

  12. to enhance the function of SPACE

    just like google reader, SPACE key can open posts, scroll, and then the next feed by order if there is nothing new in the late feed.

  13. while you reading a post (aka A) and then scroll up and click space, you get a post (the top one you can see) that you just read expanded

    while you reading a post ( aka A) and then scroll up and click space, you get a post (the top one you can see, aka B) that you just read expanded, not the next one blow A (read or unread).
    GR did it the way i just suggest

  14. .. bigger preview pictures for youtube feeds (like it was in google reader).

    But please do not use the actual video as feed content like "feedly" did since that takes much too long to load if you only want to quickly look through your feeds.

  15. Improve Multilingual Search

    Currently searching functionality in Japanese does not work properly.

    For example, Search with the keyword '東京'(Tokyo), the search result shows the feeds which contain any of '東' or '京'.

    Please improve this functionality to get correct search result.

  16. Fix the bug with the space bar

    After I select a feed, pressing the space bar opens the first unread, and then the next, and so on. This also leads to the open folder on the left panel to close.

  17. Don't scroll whole list on folder selection

    Select a folder in the middle and then use Shift+J/K to select another. All list scrolled. And hard to find out the target after list scrolled.

    Scrolling whole list is dizzy. Just move the color bar beside the folder name and scroll list only when article is outside the window.

  18. Make the "Mark as read" button look different if the post is marked read

    Currently, to tell whether a post is read or unread, one needs to read the text of the button to find the "un" inserted. This can also lead to not noticing when you've accidentally marked an item as read (by clicking the text).

    My suggestion is to make the button change color, or change the checkbox to an empty checkbox, or change the background of the feed item (preferable, unless the click text to mark read is made optional), so it's easier to tell whether the item is marked read.

  19. Fix the bug that jumps to the top sometimes when hitting Shift+Space.

    Scenario: Reading through feeds, hitting j and k to go through them, sometimes I start reading one instead of hitting f or v, to do so, I usually press space to drop down. This works fine. When I want to go back up one section I press Shift+Space. This sometimes works, and other times it will bring me up, not to the top of the article, but to the top of the whole feed list.

    This happens in Chrome on Mac while reading All Items. Its just an annoyance, but would love to see it fixed.
