Access to "liked" posts thru API
I'm using gReader Android app. Since closure of google reader I'm looking for replacement which is supported by my app and has decent web interface. Yes, TOR has most readable and usable interface in my opinion, and what is most important - lightweight when compared to "creply floud". And it works well with gReader, except that, citing gReader's author: "API doesn't support marking as starred (liked) yet". So I politely ask - is this will be ever supported?

Find As You Type (type ahead find) Firefox
If you have Find As You Type (1) turned on in Firefox some keyboard shortcuts are broken.
I think most, if not all the g + something don't work.
Some work and don't activate Find As You Type ex: j, k
Some work but active Find As You Type: 1, 2You can try the same thing in Google Reader and their keyboard shortcuts (both single and multi-key) work without activating Find As You Type. So I believe there's a way to make a web app work with it?

Add favicons to article list
The favicon (optional) would be nice to the left of or instead of the feed title in the article list would be nice. A minor and cosmetic addition I know.

Menu option to move a feed into another category
When you have hundreds of feeds, drag and drop isn't really a sensible option to organise feeds, especially when you imported them from Google - Can you please have a menu option like Reader did to pop a feed into a different category?

Fix the bug that jumps to the top sometimes when hitting Shift+Space.
Scenario: Reading through feeds, hitting j and k to go through them, sometimes I start reading one instead of hitting f or v, to do so, I usually press space to drop down. This works fine. When I want to go back up one section I press Shift+Space. This sometimes works, and other times it will bring me up, not to the top of the article, but to the top of the whole feed list.
This happens in Chrome on Mac while reading All Items. Its just an annoyance, but would love to see it fixed.

Keyboard-controlled interface for subscription management
TheOldReader is not completely designed following the WAI WCAG 2.0 and WAI-ARIA for rich internet applications. Please consider including keyboard-controlled interface, and not mouse-only, with descriptive labels, for having the subscription management also accessible to blind users: adding folders, moving feeds to folders, deleting feeds/folders, searching feeds to add. It is important do not consider it as a low-priority.

don't dock items at the top while scrolling
When I scroll items using the j/k or shift-j/shift-k keyboard shortcuts, I find that the next item is moved all of a sudden to the top to become the first one in the list. I find this bit distracting. In Google Reader, the item used to stay where it was and simple keep moving downwards.
It's hard to explain the actual behaviour, but the difference is immediately recognizable if one were to scroll using keyboard in both The Old Reader and Google Reader

"Mark all as read" shouldn't mark articles I've just marked as unread
I imported my feeds list from Google Reader some time before it closed and continued to read feeds there. And now I switched to The Old Reader, so now I have a lot of "unread" articles. So I'm opening feed by feed and list articles until I reach seen items. I've marked some of them as unread to read them some time later because I've seen them in GReader but also didn't come to actually read them. And once I've reached items I've read in GReader I clicked Mark all as read because there left 100+ items below. But It…

Make the "Mark as read" button look different if the post is marked read
Currently, to tell whether a post is read or unread, one needs to read the text of the button to find the "un" inserted. This can also lead to not noticing when you've accidentally marked an item as read (by clicking the text).
My suggestion is to make the button change color, or change the checkbox to an empty checkbox, or change the background of the feed item (preferable, unless the click text to mark read is made optional), so it's easier to tell whether the item is marked read.

Don't scroll whole list on folder selection
Select a folder in the middle and then use Shift+J/K to select another. All list scrolled. And hard to find out the target after list scrolled.
Scrolling whole list is dizzy. Just move the color bar beside the folder name and scroll list only when article is outside the window.

"Following" should show as a folder in the API
I am using gReader, and unless it's a failure of their implementation (which is possible), there isn't a way to view anything from people I'm following. I should be able to access each of the people I'm following as separate feeds under a "Following" folder (or "tag" as gReader calls them).

Fix the bug with the space bar
After I select a feed, pressing the space bar opens the first unread, and then the next, and so on. This also leads to the open folder on the left panel to close.

Interface / UI speed
Seems to me that the interface could be fake-speeded up quite easily. Examples:
1) If I mark all articles in a feed as read, the interface seems to be waiting for a response from TOR's server. But that's not necessary from a user's (and usability) point of view. Just hide that feed and that feed's articles on the user's computer locally. THEN send a message to TOR's server.
2) Moving feeds seems to similarly be waiting for TOR server responses. Suggestion: Save all changes on the user's machine locally first, then collect all the changes and send them to TOR's…

Remembering folder setting
It would be good if OldReader remembers folder setting such as which one was opened, which one was closed in previous login. Right now, it opens all folders up on login.

Add an option to fit images to width on a feed-by-feed basis.
Add an option to fit images to width on a feed-by-feed basis.
This would avoid the need to either squint at tiny images (e.g. comics) or use an excessive page zoom (which may interfere with other feeds).
