  1. Undo last action

    One of the features that Google Reader was lacking is undoing previous action. I think that every software should have such option. I've had situations where I'd want to get back in time just for a split second. Marking all articles as read might have you lose some hair. Dragging and dropping a feed to wrong folder can make you wonder "where did that go". I am aware that undoing complicated action might not be a trivial task, but it surely will be satisfying feeling for an end user when he realizes that he doesn't have to spend half an…

  2. Have an option to remove images from news feeds

    I like the old reader because it's pretty clean. However, it's displaying images in some feeds eventhough it only uses up bandwith, makes the layout look ugly and it doesn't help me scrolling through a large number of news items.

  3. Search for multiple words in articles

    When I search for articles with multiple words, it does an "or" search (ie: it searches for articles with any of the words, when I want to find all of the words). I've tried using boolean eg, searching for word1 AND word2 AND word3, and it does not return any results. Would be great if there was an easy way to search for all words in an article.

  4. Retain Article/Post Formatting

    Old Reader doesn't even maintain some obvious formatting, such as text wrapping around left aligned images. Google Reader did this very well, retaining the original formatting of articles/posts. The Old Reader makes the very barest of efforts.

  6. Leave folders expanded/collapsed as they are left

    Save the expanded/collapsed state of each folder regardless of browser or resolution.

    The suggestion "Collapse folders as the default view" may be officially "Completed" but it is still lacking. Mobile is not the only resolution would benefit from this.

    As a user commented in that suggestion, the folder state should remain just as the user left it.

    As another commented, it is annoying to collapse them all down first.

    Do you prefer to have your folders collapsed by default?

  7. A quick way to switch between show all feeds and show only those with unread items

    Google reader used to have this. It is much more convenient then going to a different page, changing an account setting, going back again to do whatever you wanted to do with your feeds, then loading up the settings page again and changing the account setting back. Please consider fixing this. Thanks very much for the hard work.

  8. Ablity to hide article attachments or set not to display them inline

    On some feeds, there are inline images in news body, but also same images are attached to news item as attachment. TOR displays those images in news body, as it should, but also displays same image as inline attachment to article. In result, I can see something that looks like duplicate images in articles.

  9. Push notifications

    It would be awesome if old reader would send push notifications to mobile phone so you would get feed news as soon as they happen (or at least as soon as reader checks them).

    Or maybe add some sort of API for it. After quick glance, I can see it can only retrieve data by polling.

  11. "Keep unread" checkbox

    Please add a "keep unread" checkbox to each feed item. If selected, the item should be kept unread even if "Mark all as read" is used or "Scrolling through posts marks them as read" is active and the item is scrolled through.

    This is a feature Google Reader unfortunately never had, but the old version of Bloglines had it and it was missed by many users when old style Bloglines was no more. It would be a great addition to The Old Reader.

  12. Allow for interface customization

    Either provide some flexible options (colors, fonts, text size, etc.) or open source it for modification. I find the default interface a bit hard on the eyes and would like to tweak, at the very least, colors and text sizes.

  14. 'Mark All As Read' option in Search

    I use the search function as a way to filter undesirable posts, but unfortunately the 'mark all as read' option isn't available in the search mode. It forces me to manually click on each and every article I want to delete from my feed. It's impractical and tiresome.

    Please make 'mark all as read' possible within the search function.

  15. support for mobile devices

    Hi guys!

    Can't login using my Opera Mini from my Nokia E72. Could you please fetch this bug? I'm mostly read my feeds from smartphone and don't think I'm the only one.

  16. List View Bulk Action: Mark Some as Read

    When in List View, I would love to have little check boxes so I can do a bulk action, marking several posts as "Read" at once WITHOUT losing all the other posts. Please?

    Bloglines has this feature, but it doesn't have Search (that I've been able to find). You have Search, but no bulk action (unless I want to mark everything as read, which I don't!) If only I could find a reader that had both...

  17. Zoom articles with + and - (change font size)

    just like in Google Reader, I'd like increase the font size just by pressing the plus button and decrease with the minus button.

  18. How can I search/log key words like I did with Google reader/alerts?

  19. Allow sorting of posts by title (invaluable for web forum topic feeds)

    I follow a lot of web forum topics via RSS, as it's so much easier than visiting each website every day to see what replies have been posted to each topic.

    It's much easier to read these feeds if I can sort the posts in the same way that emails would show up in my inbox -- namely, the original topic post first, followed by replies.   20. Show both actual timestamp and "x hours ago" for each article

    Right now, you have to hover over the "x hours ago" timestamp to see the actual time of the post. There is plenty of room to list both, so please do so. (GReader used to show both).
