Blogroll/Link List HTML Generator
On my website, I have a tab for "Links" to share the sites that I enjoy reading. I published that link page with HTML that Google Reader produced based on subscriptions I had. I had reader set up in folders (News, Gossip, Recipes, Fun Stuff, Fashion, etc) and I could create HTML for each folder listing links to all my subscriptions.
Would love to see that here to replace that, so that I do not have to manually update, it just mimics what I am reading.

Smart folders
I'd love for there to be a way to define smart folders, such as "Only today's posts", "Only this week's posts", calculated by the user's current location / timezone.

have full screen option
I have a netbook. That means small screen. Google reader had the 'w' option to full screen within the window to remove everything except the reading pane. I would love to have that

Not automatically mark as read when clicking a post
I love the new "Scrolling through posts marks them as read" option, which I disable, since I don't want posts to mark themselves as read automatically.
Unfortunately, posts still mark themselves as "read" when I click on them (when selecting text, for example), so the feature is only partially implemented for me.
I wish the option would be clearer in the intent: either posts mark themselves as read when "seen" (clicked, scrolled by, etc.), or they don't.
Here's what I want (even if it may sound weird to somebody who works differently): I ONLY want to mark posts as…

Reconsider your decision not to support IE8
I appreciate your reasoning not to support IE8, but the sad truth is that MOST companies restrict their browers to IE8 because they are woefully behind the times! Wish you guys would reconsider or I'll have to use something else at work.

Import *.opml files into a folder
At present, I click Import. I then have almost one hundred entries under Subscriptions. Could Import place its output in a folder instead? E. g., Cat Videos, instead of having one hundred cat videos that have to be placed one-by-one into a New Folder. Thanks

Fix the navigation buttons being all square boxes on machines locked down not to allow foregin fonts
All I get is little squares, not keen to allow random fonts to be used which is why I have that turned off. Fonts are for text not controls.

When viewing a single feed, there's no indicator of how many posts are left. I can only see the number of posts in a folder or over all.
When you have a lot of folders, with many feeds inside, sometimes you click on the feed name of a particular post, causing the UI to show you all posts that are from that feed. Unlike Google Reader, though, once you're looking at a single feed's stream of posts, you cannot see how many articles/posts are in the feed.
For instance, I have a folder with tech blogs. Sometimes are viewing a few posts, I click on the Slashdot feed, singling it out. The Old Reader UX does the right thing and shows me all Slashdot posts. It even shows…

Get rid of the "Unsubscribe" button for folders
Having an unsubscribe button seems completely unnecessary, but potentially very dangerous. It seems more likely a person would use it by accident than on purpose. And if people think there actually is some use, perhaps turning it on or off could be an option in the settings menu.

Option to open a specific folder directly when going to the home page
I have one main folder with news which I regularly read. The other folders don't have as much priority and I skim through those when I got some extra time. The "Home" section doesn't have any value for me, I'm not even looking at it, it's the list of news items that count and is the first thing I go to.
It would be great if an option was introduced to take you to the specified folder directly as soon as you go to "theoldreader.com" and are logged in.

Use Smaller Font in Feed Title
The feed title at the top of the right-hand pane is in a very large bold font, and does not scroll with the article. ie. it is always on the screen, and advertises what you are reading about to anyone within 20 feet.
I always liked that Google Reader's subtlety. It had the same title but in a moderate sized font and scrollable.

Inline install prompt for Chrome extension
The website should detect if a user has Chrome and doesn't yet have the extension/app, and prompt to install them.
Implementation guidelines: https://developers.google.com/chrome/web-store/docs/inline_installation
