Opt to limit number of saved items below standard 1,000.
An option to change the number of maximum saved items to specific or pre-determined values such as 200, 500, 750. Saves you space and gives the user the option to cut down on out-dated news. Personally I have no need or desire to read through 1,000 old articles and only really care for the more recent data.

Show folders names in bold if there are any unread items
Same behaviour like the Google Reader.
If there are any unread items in that folder display the name in a bold typeface to stand out more.4 votes -
Share news items with only specific people (or only 1)
The one feature I miss from Reader than Old Reader doesn't have was the ability to share news items with a select audience via the use of shared folders converted to RSS feeds.
This was a bit of a hack, but it worked for my purpose: Sharing items only with my wife. Sure, someone could have found the feed and subscribed, but why would they care? It didn't consist of private news items, but it did consist of things my wife and I would talk about, and I didn't really want to share what I was reading/thinking about with everyone.…

Automatically pull URL from clipboard when adding a feed
I would find it convenient if, after clicking to add a feed, the contents of my clipboard (most likely a URL) would automatically get pasted into the field.

Limits on age and number of feeds
Allow setting limits on how old a feed can be to be shown and the maximum number of feeds to be shown.

Allow all/more likes on a post to be visible
If I recall correctly, Google Reader used to have the "and ## others liked this" string as a clickable object to list out all of the people who liked a post. If that's not feasible (due to the possibility of loading 1000 names), maybe allow one click to load up to some acceptable number of names, and subtract that number from the "undisplayed likes" count.
Mainly, I just want to be able to see the people who liked a post that are either following me or that I'm following.

Following users - comments highlight
One of the most missed functionalities from the (old old) greader, was the ability to have "conversation threads" within the shared items, this really made people fall in love with the platform.
The Old Reader (new new... like ramona i guess), have this almost nailed down, sharing and commenting in content is a breeze, however there's no highlight of the commented items and therefore the "conversation" within the topic may be lost. It would be good that the Following section highlighted the items that have received comments.
Thanks

Next button feature that takes you to blogs directly using your subscription list
Much like the Google "Next" button, make a clickable button that is located in a toolbar that takes you to the next unread blog you subscribe to. (This way you visit blogs directly, but you manage your subscriptions through The Old Reader)

That’s the best suggestion, thank you.
We’d love to, but venture capitals don’t grow on the trees these days. -
middle clicking a collapsed item's title to open the source link
Some of my feeds have items when clicked on only show a title and no or limited content. It would be great if there was an option to middle click on collapsed items and have them act as a link so that it may be viewed in a new tab. This would save a whole step of having to uncollapse it and click on the title and would allow quick opening of multiple items that are like this.

Refresh button for all items.
There is a refresh button when scrolling through just a single feed. Why not one when scrolling through "all items?"

Add the possibility to manage Twitter feeds too
I just noticed my twitter feeds didn't import, which is a pity. I'm liking The Old Reader as alternative for when the Google one dies...except for that. I like to follow some public people that way because I can easily see their replies to others. I know Twitter doesn't have the RSS button anymore, but feeds are still working (although the url that must be used changed a while ago).

Change font colours
I have some visual issues, and I find the green, and yellow, difficult to read. Black fine. Is it possible to have the facility to change the colours?

Disable automaticl scrolling for small posts that fit into the screen
Disable scrolling for small posts (when I expand them via mouse). In Google Reader I can expand/collapse without moving the mouse cursor. But in TOR even these posts are scrolled to the top, and I have to move the mouse again :(

keyboard navigation doesn't work as I'd expect
j and k, rather than going to the post before or after the currently expanded post, go to the post before or after the post that is currently at the top of the page.
When viewing posts in list form, I expect navigation to work in relation to the currently expanded post. As it is, if I scroll the page at all, j and k work in a suprising and not totally predictable way.

Log in with Google account and you can't read the GReader stream? This makes me nut.
I think I did say everything on the title. Once you have people logging in with a third party OTP, it mean you are effectively able to gather relevant info on the entire account.
What's the point to not read the GReader stream and import automatically saving the hassle for people to export and import their OPML again?1 vote -
Create several favorites folder
I am putting interesting posts (not feeds) into my favorites folder.
Due to the reason that I have feeds of different topics, I would like to arrange the entries in the favorites folder by my personal order.
For example:
favorites folder 1 only contains posts from "computer feeds"
and
favorites folder 2 only contains posts from "car feeds"
etc.Question (suggestion of a new feature):
Is it possible to create more than one favorites folder or list ?

Allow users to buy extra votes.
I like the old reader and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is when asking for new features. Let me buy extra votes so that it can go some way to funding the new features.
