alphabetizing
Is it possible to alphabetize feeds manually or automatically?
I noticed one can drag them but that's a lot of work ... sometimes.
Hope to hear from you,regards,
Roel

RSS feed for posts you've liked the way shared has an rss feed.
There is an RSS feed for shared items. Can there be a feed for liked items too?

Adding Persons By Twitter search/Google News/Google Blog
In Google reader you can add a feed by "John Brown" + " Canada" in a google reader search option. How is this done on the Oldreader or is it to come as a feature

Provide option to make list view (even) more compact, to help with high-volume feeds.
Big feeds like Zero Hedge or Hacker News pump out hundreds of posts per day -- RSS readers with an ultracompact list view make scanning these much easier. If The Old Reader had an ultracompact option, that'd be immensely helpful (less scrolling).

Fix dead feeds
Under dead feeds, there are 5 feeds which say they have been updated 9 months ago, 3 months ago, etc. However, I also have feeds which were only updated 3 years ago which are not showing up under dead feeds. Seems like this feature is not working correctly.

Extra audio support
Google Reader, Netvibes and Feedly seem to be able to play all of my mp3 podcast feeds perfectly in Firefox.
Theoldreader seems to do nothing when i press play.
Having emailed support they say it's because Firefox doesn't support mp3 files (which I find odd as the other three players seem to cope fine).
I propose that theoldreader add an extra case so that it uses the existing <audio> html tag for other browsers but embeds the audio in the same way Google etc. do for Firefox users.

Add option to highlight read/unread items differently
As a refugee from Google Reader, a nice feature I see missing is having the whole row for an item highlighted according to read status.
White for unread, yellow for currently selected, grey for read items. You have the little green indicator next to each line, but whole line highlighting will make it easier to use at a glance.

Show only subscriptions with new posts
I'd like to be able to see a list of my subscriptions that shows only those feeds that have new content. Is this possible?

[List view] Add button to open a post in a new window
I would appreciate it very much if there were a button available for each post in the list view such that it would allow me to open the post in a new window/browser tab. Upon clicking this button, the post should be marked as read.

Move the 'unsubscribe' button
The 'unsubscribe' button and 'mark all as read' button are too close to each other, and the wrong button could be pressed by mistake. Suggestion is to move the unsubscribe button to the other side of the screen, or simply elsewhere.
NB : There was already a suggestion for this which has been marked as 'completed'. However they're still right next to each other, so submitting this again.

Embedded Audio
First off, I love The Old Reader. I was a Google Reader user and--of all the possible replacements--The Old Reader is my favorite. My only hesitation is that it seems to be stripping content from some of my feeds.
As an example, the feed below should have an AAC file embeded in each post:
The feed shows up in The Old Reader fine--albeit without the AAC files. If you enter the same RSS feed into Google Reader or Feedly, the AAC files show up fine.
Do you know why this is? Can you make it so that the files…

Buttons above AND below posts, instead of just below.
Here's the idea- how about the same buttons that appear under the posts (share, like...) also appear above it? It's sure would be useful for when I'm browsing my feeds at work (or other place, where my browsing time is limitted), I see something that interests me, and would like to like it for later (so I could return to it when I have the time). As for now it requires a massive amount of scrolling if the post happens to be a long one.

Ability to Star (or Mark) items while still collapsed
I have to open a post to mark it (using key 'l'). I would like a way to mark it for later reading while just reading the headline while the list is collapsed.

Non-.db Image Cache for offline viewing
I'd like to see an image cache that stores images associated with a post for offline viewing. I'd also like to see this be just a standard cache instead of an .db cache which you can't easily sift through like you can a regular cache folder in Finder.

undo unsubscribe
Currently when I unsubscribe from a feed, the action is final, with no way to resubscribe. I can't even go to the same feed because the link to it is promply forgotten. The website takes me to a default home page; instead it should stay on the same feed until I decide to move away or perhaps resubscribe.

As a user I would like to configure my start page, e.g. "All items"
In many cases I would like to start with the "All items" page instead of the current "Home" page. So, it would be helpful to configure in the settings page the starting page one personally likes to have.
