Please unbold/grey/change color of headlines that have been opened and read.
Please differentiate between headlines that have been clicked on, and read, as opposed to those that aren't clicked on.
It seems the green tag (unread) disappears after the headline is loaded, but headlines should only be marked "read" after being clicked on.

Add favicons to article list
The favicon (optional) would be nice to the left of or instead of the feed title in the article list would be nice. A minor and cosmetic addition I know.

Non-.db Image Cache for offline viewing
I'd like to see an image cache that stores images associated with a post for offline viewing. I'd also like to see this be just a standard cache instead of an .db cache which you can't easily sift through like you can a regular cache folder in Finder.

Improve keyboard next/previous subscription or folder
When I press shift-j or shift-k after I empty a feed and it disappears from the list of feeds, instead of starting from the top of my feeds list, it should start from where it left off. I only show unread feeds, so maybe it works properly when that is off.

allow pasting OPML data into text area
File upload is broken in some mobile browsers, like Google Chrome. As a mitigation, we could allow users to paste the OPML data into a text area as an alternative.

Fix the navigation buttons being all square boxes on machines locked down not to allow foregin fonts
All I get is little squares, not keen to allow random fonts to be used which is why I have that turned off. Fonts are for text not controls.

Export Liked
I would like to be able to export my Liked articles, in a way that allows them to be imported into another service. I see this is done already for feeds (OPML) and Shared (RSS), so I think adding of export of Liked would be a big step toward being to export all of a users data.

Let me move feeds into hidden folders
When I have "Show only those folders/feeds that have unread items" checked, I can't move new feed subscriptions into hidden folders.
When I try to drag a feed into a folder, all the hidden folders should be temporarily displayed.

Scroll bar in list mode too narrow
Please make the scroll bar to the right in list mode a bit wider. Now it is hard to get the mouse pointer easily to the right spot. I use a 1680x1050 screen resolution on a laptop.
Thanks for a good reader!

Show a "Mark as unread" button at the top of the RSS article
Show a "Mark as unread" button at the top of the RSS article
when scanning the new articles, sometimes I end up opening an article that I decide to read later, which is often the case for long articles. I then want to mark the item as unread to avoid it gets lost, but to do so I have to scroll down to the end of the article, which may be several screens long.
Having an easily accessible "mark as unread" button at the top (say next to the posting date/time) would really make life easier (at least for me).13 votes -

Blogger
The only thing I want with a new rss reader is to be able to post the posts I want to to blogger. If you plan to add this feature GREAT! If not, can you tell me any rss reader that does? I'd greatly appreciate it

Custom pre-made feedlists
You have a friend that doesn't use The Old Reader, but reads a lot of posts from a lot of blogs. You tell him to use The Old Reader, but he is a lazy person and isn't inclined to change his behaviour. You could use this feature to pre-build a feed for him, with the blogs you know he likes, and send a link to this custom feed to him.
With that link he could experiment the feed-reading stuff and, if he likes, he could just register and register that feedlist for his account.
Also, this could be used to…
