It would be nice if we could select more than one feed to move to a folder at a time.
If we could highlight a "bunch" of our rss feed titles, to be moved to a folder, and perhaps right click-copy-paste to the new folder.

tidy display of posts with pictures
Posts with pictures at the top align the first line of the text to the right of the image and then there's a big gap before the text continues below the image. It would be awesome if you could prevent this from happening somehow.

Resize text
It would be nice to be able to make the text of blog posts bigger, especially as the sidebar cannot be tucked away to allow for more screenroom.

Embed Popouts
The original reader has a feature where known embeds have a link which pops the embed out into a new small browser window. This allows you to listen to video/audio while continuing to browse your feeds.

Reconsider your decision not to support IE8
I appreciate your reasoning not to support IE8, but the sad truth is that MOST companies restrict their browers to IE8 because they are woefully behind the times! Wish you guys would reconsider or I'll have to use something else at work.

Move the 'unsubscribe' button
The 'unsubscribe' button and 'mark all as read' button are too close to each other, and the wrong button could be pressed by mistake. Suggestion is to move the unsubscribe button to the other side of the screen, or simply elsewhere.
NB : There was already a suggestion for this which has been marked as 'completed'. However they're still right next to each other, so submitting this again.

Ye Olde Reader sister site
Make a sister site, yeoldereader.com, which is exactly this site except that "The Old Reader" is replaced by "Ye Olde Reader" everywhere.

Sort posts by the time of update
Sort posts by the time of appearance in the reader. Currently - if I understand it correctly - the posts are sorted by the time of publication. Due to the delays in the feed updates, it often happens that updated posts don't appear on top of the list and I miss them.

Private Blogs
Is there a way to store private blog addresses? I would like to have a central location for storing blog even if I have to click out.

There is an RSS feed for shared items. Can there be a feed for liked items too?

Allow iframes in feed items
Slashdot feed has iframes for top 5 comments, which allows to read/moderate them without opening the main site.
Google reader displays this iframe; Old Reader does not.

sharing/loving at the top of articles
The "share" and "love" buttons are at the end of each articles.
Sometimes I don't have the time to read a long article with a promising title.Actualy I have to scroll down to the end of the article to be able to "love" it and get a link to the article so I can read it later.
I would suggest either adding a "read later" or "put inside to read later" button OR put the love button at the top of every article, following the title.

Change folder from the feed
Change what folder a feed is part of from the feed, no dragging/dropping required.
Since I have updated my settings to hide feeds/folders with no unread items I can't move a new feed to that folder until a new post shows up there or I change my settings. A dropdown with the available folders available from the feed would solve the problem.25 votes -
"Scrolling through post marks it as read" setting per view type
It looks like some users do not like "scrolling through post marks it as read" as a global setting and would prefer being able to configure this behavior separately per view type.

Emulate Google Reader "compact view"
Google reader had a function call "compact view" and it compresses the headlines into a more e-mail like format.

As a user I would like to configure my start page, e.g. "All items"
In many cases I would like to start with the "All items" page instead of the current "Home" page. So, it would be helpful to configure in the settings page the starting page one personally likes to have.

Mobile Site Static Menu or 'Back to Top'
I've been using The Old Reader for a good two weeks now and truly appreciate the service. Great minimalist UI and nice mobile adaptation. When I load a feed that is large or has a lot of unread items, scrolling can be difficult. Maybe either a small static menu button or a scroll to top button would be helpful?
