  1. up arrow behaviour

Strange behaviour of up and down arrow makes mixed arrow/scrollwheel navigation a bit confusing.

The up arrow seems to not move to the "next unopened item" in the list, but to the "first item in the list that is visible in the current viewable area".

Let's say I am scrolling a long list of items: some are visible on screen, some titles are up (outside of the viewable list), some are down: if I open a post, its title wil be aligned to the top of viewable area.
If then I scroll the page a bit up, revealing headlines of…

  2. make windows phone browsers work

Currently when going to the old reader on windows phone you get an exact look like using a desktop browser. More specifically: feed list on the left and on the right the stories. However if you have a long list of feeds in your menu you can't scroll all the way down so it's not usable.

On Android you get it nicely under each other (which isn't optimized but at least works).

I guess recognizing mobile IE and giving it the same rendering as Chrome on Android should do the trick.

    Thanks,

    Jorn

  3. Show subscriber count and posts per week

One nice feature of Google Reader is you can tell how popular a feed is (or whether you've clicked the wrong one by accident) based on subscriber count. Also, if you show posts per week, I know I won't subscribe to one that inundates me with articles. Thanks.

  5. Allow users to buy extra votes.

I like the old reader and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is when asking for new features. Let me buy extra votes so that it can go some way to funding the new features.

  7. Make font size user-adjustable

I have somewhat poor vision, and often bump font sizes up in Chrome using the CTRL+= shortcut. Unfortunately, on The Old Reader this makes the sidebars and top navbar unnecessarily huge (http://d.pr/i/JcoK). For some reason, this also causes the j,k keyboard shortcuts to function strangely (two or three keystrokes necessary to go to the next story).

Can we have a simple preference to set the font size?

  9. Date format

Please could we have a choice of date format. 2013-04-28 08:07:00 UTC means not a lot to me. Smallest to largest would be better, time, day, month, year.

  10. Show folders names in bold if there are any unread items

Same behaviour like the Google Reader.
If there are any unread items in that folder display the name in a bold typeface to stand out more.

  11. Following users - comments highlight

One of the most missed functionalities from the (old old) greader, was the ability to have "conversation threads" within the shared items, this really made people fall in love with the platform.

The Old Reader (new new... like ramona i guess), have this almost nailed down, sharing and commenting in content is a breeze, however there's no highlight of the commented items and therefore the "conversation" within the topic may be lost. It would be good that the Following section highlighted the items that have received comments.

    Thanks

  12. minimize profile panel

Is there a way to minimize the profile panel so that it doesn't take up a third of the real estate on my monitor? Thanks.

  14. Blogroll/Link List HTML Generator

On my website, I have a tab for "Links" to share the sites that I enjoy reading. I published that link page with HTML that Google Reader produced based on subscriptions I had. I had reader set up in folders (News, Gossip, Recipes, Fun Stuff, Fashion, etc) and I could create HTML for each folder listing links to all my subscriptions.

Would love to see that here to replace that, so that I do not have to manually update, it just mimics what I am reading.

  15. Sort in order that new feed items were discovered

I'm a new Google Reader convert, and I'm experiencing a problem that I can put down only to the fact that The Old Reader is taking considerable time to find and catch up with my feeds.

I had manually marked as read all of the many thousands of posts that were more than about two weeks old. However, over the next couple of days, I keep noticing new items appearing in my list that are more than two weeks old (and others that are less than two weeks as well, although it's hard to tell which of these are new…

  16. Disable automaticl scrolling for small posts that fit into the screen

Disable scrolling for small posts (when I expand them via mouse). In Google Reader I can expand/collapse without moving the mouse cursor. But in TOR even these posts are scrolled to the top, and I have to move the mouse again :(

  17. Create several favorites folder

I am putting interesting posts (not feeds) into my favorites folder.

Due to the reason that I have feeds of different topics, I would like to arrange the entries in the favorites folder by my personal order.

    For example:

favorites folder 1 only contains posts from "computer feeds"
    and
favorites folder 2 only contains posts from "car feeds"
    etc.

Question (suggestion of a new feature):

Is it possible to create more than one favorites folder or list ?

  19. streamline folder making

It's not hard to make folders and get the hang of moving stuff. It's just that it's memory intensive and it takes a lot of time to organize stuff

  20. keyboard shortcuts after share

After sharing a post, I press 'n' my usual shortcut to move to the next post, but it starts typing n in the shared comment box. The keyboard shortcut should have priority. Those that want to comment, should click on the comment box.
