  1. increase the size of the reading pane

    I am really thrilled with the idea of something to take over for Google Reader and am glad you guys took on the project.
    On a 13" widescreen laptop with Chrome filling the entirety of vertical space and the majority of horizontal space, the reading pane is fairly small. Between the large Masthead/search bar and then the feed-specific information bar, it takes a lot of scrolling to read through an article. I'd love for the ability to customize space or at least offer a full browser window reading pane option with shortcut, like GReader.

  2. Fool Boolean syntax in search (AND, OR, NOT)

    Apparently, AND and OR is working but not "NOT". And please explain this feature in your Tour page! Thanks!

  3. Log in with Google account and you can't read the GReader stream? This makes me nut.

    I think I did say everything on the title. Once you have people logging in with a third party OTP, it mean you are effectively able to gather relevant info on the entire account.
    What's the point to not read the GReader stream and import automatically saving the hassle for people to export and import their OPML again?

  4. add an option to display similar feeds

    In Google reader, next to the feed title, there the option arrow related to this feed. Among those options, one I find really usefull displays the similar feeds (similar or related content) and subscribe to this feed.

    Such an option would be nice in The Old Reader

  5. Do not display already read trending items

    Sometimes after reading and closing "Trending" items I open them again and forced to scroll lot of pages to fin new items. Why this items are not marked as read just like other subscriptions

  6. Sort (and sync) by date

    I've just imported from Reader, but I'm having to comb through 2000+ updates from 4 years ago. Limiting the period in which to sync would be helpful.

  7. Mark as all as read by date option

    In Google reader, until it's unfortunate demise, you can "mark all as read" but choose "items older than x." When sometimes you come online after days away from your feeds (vacation, a great weekend, long work binges, etc.) that is an incredibly useful feature.

  8. Refresh button for all items.

    There is a refresh button when scrolling through just a single feed. Why not one when scrolling through "all items?"

  9. Ability to turn off any social features!

    I just want to read my news in a quick way with a simple interface, no social anything which disturbs the clean interface. no recommendations, trends, ...

    So if i could turn all these features off under settings, that would be great.

    Ability to email an article to someone else is enough.

  11. RSS Widget to include RSS Streams in a Web Page

    I wish a widget to include several RSS Streams into my website pages. The widget should be customizable (width, color, date of the feed, URL-source or original source name)

  12. Create a way to manage folders.

    When I am on a feed, and I want to remove it from a folder, there isn't a way to do this. Or, if I want to create 5 new folders, there isn't a way to just create them. The dragging and dropping method isn't working for me, the way the how to says it should. Have a manage folders page, where we can manage all the items and folders, like the favorites page of our browsers.

  13. It would be nice if we could select more than one feed to move to a folder at a time.

    If we could highlight a "bunch" of our rss feed titles, to be moved to a folder, and perhaps right click-copy-paste to the new folder.

  14. tidy display of posts with pictures

    Posts with pictures at the top align the first line of the text to the right of the image and then there's a big gap before the text continues below the image. It would be awesome if you could prevent this from happening somehow.

  16. Resize text

    It would be nice to be able to make the text of blog posts bigger, especially as the sidebar cannot be tucked away to allow for more screenroom.

  17. Embed Popouts

    The original reader has a feature where known embeds have a link which pops the embed out into a new small browser window. This allows you to listen to video/audio while continuing to browse your feeds.

  18. Ability to import starred items from Google Reader

    I imported all my google data but the starred items did not import. Can you add a functionality that does this?

  19. Reconsider your decision not to support IE8

    I appreciate your reasoning not to support IE8, but the sad truth is that MOST companies restrict their browers to IE8 because they are woefully behind the times! Wish you guys would reconsider or I'll have to use something else at work.
