  2. Repair content display when there are both LTR and RTL writing systems in the feed item

When a feed contains both LTR and RTL content, all the content is aligned to the right. It would be better to have each content aligned to its adequate margin.

I created this dummy feed where the problem can be seen, based on another feed where I found it: http://suspensao.blog.br/feed.xml

  3. Mute comments from selected users

Some people comment so frequently with such little substance that I would like to be able to mute that user such that "Commented" won't update/increment if they have left a comment. Unfollowing isn't the solution, as the Comments section will show updates if people you don't follow comment on something shared by people you do follow.

To simplify implementation, you could still retain that user's comments, but have them blanked out/obscured unless you "click here to show."

  5. Provide ongoing search within subscription feeds

I have 10-15 items in Craigslist that I continually am on alert for potential purchase/trade. Microsoft Outlook offers a static search feature w/ RSS feeds, where reader does the searching automatically daily/hourly once the search criterion defined. This would be a huge selling point for monthly subscription plans, IE: 1-20 @ $3/mo plan, etc. Thanks for the consideration!

  6. Better interface and theme

    Hi guys,
Are you planning a new theme and interface because I really think the actual one need some refreshment ! It has not been updated since a long time and I feel less and less confortable with it.
You should think about updating it, feel free to inspire yourself from inoreader and feedly. I don't want the same theme as your concurrent but a theme/interface more pleasant to use :-) Hope you understand.

  7. Send Email Open in New Tab

The email link is wonderful with one issue. I host my own server with a Roundcube webmail interface. RoundCube allows you to integrated with the browser as an email client. When using the email button, it launches as a compose message in RoundCube. Unfortunately, it replaces the current tab in Firefox. Would it be possible to add a flag to Email configuration that would force it to not replace the current tab. I.e. Launch email in new tab. The compose message is wrapped in HTML. Email as plain text would be nice.

  8. Proper scroll bar

Your interface is a usability nightmare. That green scroll bar only becomes visible on hover, so I spend much of my time hovering up and down trying to find it, and then it's so small it's hugely difficult to click on. What's worse, why isn't there a way to scroll with the keyboard?!
    THE INTERFACE IS UNUSABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. I would like to be able to read Instapaper articles from within Old Reader (so I can use Spritz to read them).

I understand that you can send articles to Instapaper (if you are a Premium member) but I would also like to be able to read Instapaper articles from within Old Reader.

This is mainly so I can use Spritz to read them.

  10. I reject to read this post buton

It takes 30 seconds to mark a post as read, even though you are not interested and want it out of the queue.
it takes 5 minutes to mark 10 post as read, even though the title shows crearly that THEY ARE NOT INTERESTING TO YOU.

  11. Add an option to display the favicon of a feed instead of feed title in reading list

I find the favicons easier to distinguish than the uniformly green block feed titles, and you obviously have them available, because they're displayed in the list of feeds. Thanks!

  12. Show randomly picked starred entries on the homepage.

Right now, starred posts are only there if you go looking for them. Adding more stuff might make the homepage a bit overcrowded though.

  14. A way to "undo" Mark All As Read.

I've accidentally hit it too many times. I know people complained about the "are you sure?" dialogue box-- which blows my mind, since I'd LIKE an "are you sure?" pop up-- but maybe a way to ctrl-z it would solve the same problem?

  15. Specify prefered MIME type in Accept header when fetching feeds

Currently The Old Reader fetches feeds with an "Accept: /" HTTP header.

Some servers return content in different formats on a single URL depending on the Accept HTTP header. The current value of The Old Reader's header say that it doesn't care about the format. If the server's default format is not RSS or Atom, this makes it impossible to subscribe to such a feed in The Old Reader.

The Old Reader should specify in the Accept HTTP header that it prefers the "application/atom+xml" and "application/rss+xml" over other MIME types.

  16. Search feed titles

It would be nice if search could also display a list of feed names that matched the criteria, to allow me to get to a particular feed easily.

Currently, if I need to copy a feed URL and it has no unread posts, then I have to go to: Settings > Untick unread only > Save > Scroll to find the feed I want > Copy URL > Settings > Retick unread only > Save.

  18. Pinned items

Pinned items remain in the feed even after using 'Mark all as read'

It is different to Starred items as you aren't forced to view your pinned items confusingly all mixed together, they remain in their feed until manually unpinned.

  20. Fix drag-and-drop in Firefox

Using the latest Firefox on Mac OS X, when I drag-and-drop feeds into folders they never seem to hit the right folder. The moved feed always seems to appear in the folder previous.
