  1. Allow us to sort in random order.

    Instead of just "normal" and "reverse," it would be nice to be able to randomize the order in which items are displayed.

  2. Convert any site into a RSS Feed

    Before I make a subscription to the Old Reader, I have one question. Is it possible to use Old Reader to generate RSS feed from any source of website? I'd like to subscribe the Old Reader service forever if it can! Thanks !

  3. Mark post as read in all feeds

    There are some feeds that have the same post, and hence it is cumbersome to have it displayed over and over (for example new publication on arxiv.org). It would be very useful if a post that is marked as read is marked as read in all the feeds where it appears.

  4. Allow discrete sorting (latest/oldest) for unread, stared, and subscriptions

    Allow unread items to be sorted oldest first, and started items as newest first.

  5. Add mechanism to modify feeds

    It would be nice if we could modify the feeds contents after being retrieved. Some feeds like the ones from Youtube contain lots of information, but not in any place that's usable. I would like to be able to apply some XSLT to the entries to create a modified entry with the information I want.

  6. Allow to select all items in a feed as unread (batch unread)

    There should be some way to batch select all items in a feed as unread, perhaps in the /subscriptions page where there are already actions for each feed (i.e. rename/unsubscribe) in a drop-down next to each feed. That seems like a sensible place for it.

    Numerous times I have accidentally marked large feeds as unread, with no sensible way to mark them as unread again.

  7. Please Offer:Pay with Alipay for Premium Account

    I am from China and willing to upgrade to premium account.

    The problem is: I don't have a paypal account and I DO NOT want to create one.

    Instead, why not you guys provide an additional option: Pay with Alipay from Alibaba?

    According to Credit Suisse, the total value of online transactions in China grew from an insignificant size in 2008 to around RMB 4 trillion (US$660 billion) in 2012. Most of them are Alipay account holders.

  8. Sort bookmarks by name of the channel from which they are added

    Because when a large number of bookmarks in them difficult to navigate. And so it would be very easy to open bookmarks and see the channels marked with the news, and then expand the desired channel and access all bookmarks with this channel.

  9. Bulk Edit: Mark as Unread/Read/Highlight Multiple Items

    I would really love to be able to Ctrl or Shift Click to select multiple items in my feed (or even just use an old fashioned check box) so I could select either Mark as Read or Mark as Unread. I understand that you have chosen to limit the number of unread articles per account (though don't really understand why) but to stay on top of feeds, bulk editing is therefore very necessary. Others have suggested bulk actions, but marking unread is as important if you're going to artificially enforce "mark as read" on articles I haven't, actually, read!

  10. Add Tag to Pocket Integration

    The Old Reader's Pocket integration is phenomenal. Simply hitting Star adds an article to Pocket queue. The only problem is that unless tags are added I have no way to telling if an article came from The Old Reader. It would be great if a tag is automatically added to the Pocket. Tag can be anything like theoldreader or user defined.

  14. make it possible to link to original sharer when sharing other's people posts

    Very frequently, I see people sharing items and posting in their comments something like "via Joe Smith". It would be nice (although maybe not easy) to have a way of automatically link to Joe Smith profile instead.

    I always appreciate your works.

    Keyshortcuts in THE OLD READER often irritate me.
    So, I want to a function to disable all of them.

  16. Highlight Current Spritz Word

    When Sprtizing, the context of the word in the article gets lost. I don't know where in a paragraph I am, I don't know where in the article I am... I just lose so much context I have with "traditional" left/right scanning.

    If the current Spritz word were highlighted, the speed benefits of Spritz would combine with the context of the article, helping me parse more information.

  17. allow certain feeds to be imported as already read

    I determine which posts to read by their read/unread status but I have a number of feeds which I don't need to read very often - I tend to let them accumulate and then browse through picking out the interesting stories. This means that my 'unread' total grows when, in fact, I have read everything that is currently interesting.

    If I could set these feeds to import as already read, I would still know that they were there and go and check them periodically and my 'unread posts' would actually be the ones that I am interested in checking as…

  18. Unify the commenting system with other readers (such as Inoreader)

    For a true global and distributed RSS community, today's main reader platforms could join to create a standard protocol for comment sharing.

    This would enable them to "integrate" the comments for news items; for example: user A uses The Old Reader, and posts a comment on a news item (some slashdot article); user B, who uses Inoreader, when seeing this same news item in his viewer, is able to see the comments from user A, and to reply to them; the reply would also be visible in user A's feed.

  20. Settings entry for disabling the "Mark All As Read" button

    I have never used the "Mark All As Read" button intentionally and sometimes I am too fast with my mouse or with my fingers on the tablet an hit it unwanted and then are all my post which I want to keep for later reading away... this is very annoying.

    Can you please make a settings entry for disabling the "Mark All As Read" button?
