I thing , this is a bug. Feeds are order in random order. Please see in screenshot:
http://postimg.org/image/qo1h4pc75/
I think actually order is by the time when feed is loaded. But better order should be by actually post create date.

Date sorting "All items"
I want to have the possibility to sort posts in "All items" by date.
Now it seems to only sort by feed then date which groups all posts from every separate feed.
3 votesActually, posts are supposed to be sorted by the time they are fetched. Due to some feed fetching delays we are seeing right now because of the massive influx of new users, new posts are being grouped by feed. This should stop happening as soon as we are back to normal feed fetching schedule.

Make it a Chrome application
The chrome applications are not much more than a glorified bookmark, but it's nice to have the big icon on the new tab page

Thanks a lot, Enrico!

I hope the inset-player of video or audio of the feeds could be be available INSIDE the old reader for reading.
Thank you and have a good day!1 vote -
Add an "always start in folder ..." option
As a user who checks feeds at work, I want to see only my tech feeds when I open my reader so that I don't have to select the tech folder each time
1 voteNothing prevents you from going to http://theoldreader.com/folders/xxxxxx directly.

Do not lock in users!
Allow users to export their feeds as OPML! This is important. Many users here have bad experience from cloud applications disappearing (i.e. Google Reader), please leave us with a way out from The Old Reader as well. I guess that this will give you more users in the long run.
3 votesThe OPML export link is at the bottom of the Settings page.

Clicking Item Marks it as Read
Clicking an item to mark it as read seems like an obvious feature. It's the default in web browser, emails and various feed readers, such as Bloglines, Net Vibes and Sage. It is also available in Google Reader as a Grease Monkey extension (https://userscripts.org/scripts/show/140290). Adding it to the Old Reader seems like a no brainer. Thanks!
3 votesShould be working as expected.
Currently may be buggy in Internet Explorer, but we’ll fix. -
Show share timestamp along with item timestamp
Basically show in the following section the timestamp marking when the item was shared, not only the item's original timestamp
1 voteMove your mouse pointer over the timestamp to see original post date.

Links for Community Sites of The Old Reader on the Home page
We should have a quick and easy way to see
http://theoldreader.uservoice.com
http://status.theoldreader.com/from the home page. I just found out about these form your Twitter account, and they are a blast!
We need better ways to make people know about these services.

add an mp3 player
Google reader lets you play feeds with mp3s in them wtih a web based mp3 player.
Add: http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/includes/wiretap.xml
to google reader to see it in action. I add the same link to T.O.R and no mp3s.Solution, when I click a link with an mp3/podcast in it, an mp3 player should pop up under my folder list so I can play my podcast and keep browsing.

When "Clicking on a post scrolls to it" is enabled, only scroll up when the post is not active
Currently, when I click on a post I'm reading it scrolls up to the top of the post, which is annoying and makes me lose my place.

fix some feeds that are not showing
case in point: doki.co/feed
there obviously are feeds, but the old reader won't show them :(
it only says "there are no posts here yet"3 votesThe feed you mentioned seems to be working fine and contain latest update at about 12 hours ago.
Please drop us an email if there are other broken feeds.
Thanks! -

Have the ability to import an OPML within a week
I guess you all are overwhelmed, but it's been a week and I am still tens of thousands from having my OPML imported. Giving up now.
2 votesActual import speed is quite good, one feed operation usually gets completed within several minutes. However, we have to throttle import operations to avoid overloading our server infrastructure.
So, unfortunately, current queue processing speed is the highest we can afford at the moment. If the amount of funds raised from the users (see http://blog.theoldreader.com/post/45927021785/sharing-is-sharing) allows, we might be able to bring additional hardware and get feeds imported faster.
In any case, The Old Reader is fully usable right away, you can add your favorite feeds manually, and start reading, following your friends, sharing, and discussing.

Retina resolution Safari icon
You could rework the Safari icon for your Reader plugin. The icon is lowres and does not support the Retina displays high resolution - so it looks pixelated.

let the profile RSS feed show initial shared comment and link to share
I love the sharing feature (ala old Google Reader), but if someone is using a different RSS reader to follow my shares, the RSS feed doesn't contain the comment I placed when I shared the item.
Response comments would also be nice on the RSS feed, but not as important.
Adding that, would let my profile page be like a microblog.
The follower should also have an easy way to access the shared post specifically to add response comments. Thanks!
10 votesDone. There is “tor:note” tag containing user’s note in plain text and “comments” tag containing link to user’s profile with specific post preloaded on top of it.

Make keypresses work regardless of the location of the mouse/cursor.
I use the keyboard to scroll down the list of stories. Currently, I have to click in the white space of a story to make the keys start working. With Google Reader, keypresses worked regardless of what I had previously done with the mouse.
