manage folders
I want to be able to rename/remove folders
3 votesThere are currently 2 ways to manage your folders. You can double click on the folder names on the left feed list and rename. This will work on everything except the “Subscriptions” folder, which you cannot change/remove.
The second way is through the subscriptions management page here: https://theoldreader.com/subscriptions
In this interface, instead of renaming folders, you can move all the feeds from the folder you want to rename to a new folder.

Android
It would be nice if there were an Android app after the iOS app is done. :-)

Share to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and others
I think the current sharing functionality can be modified to allow both TOR sharing and other sorts of social sharing. Without knowing your business model, it's difficult to understand if this is against it, but I would expect many users to request this feature (which is already supported by Feedly).
I have seen that you have declined a similar request a month ago. But I believe things have changed quite a bit after Google's announcement and you may want to revisit this topic.

"Email" button
- maintain a list of email addresses in user settings.
- after user hits the Email button, we should show that list and send a link to the post to the chosen email address.
- we could also make an input field in that list for user to enter any email address

Lazy load images in collapsed items
Currently when in list view and all items are collapsed, the post content and images are still loaded inside a hidden div - this means the browser is still downloading all those images though, chewing up bandwidth.
I have a few RSS feeds that are just all embedded GIF files, and loading them all inside the hidden divs almost froze my browser (plust ook 20mb+ bandwidth)
I propose you just lazy load the content in when a collapsed item is expanded.

Password-protected feeds
I would love to be able to follow the full RSS feeds for password-protected sites (e.g., Livejournal, where each individual users' feed can contain a mix of open and password-protected entries).
11 votesYou can now use basic authentication to access RSS feeds using the url format: http(s)://username:password@url.com

Set maximum width and height for iframes (youtube and videos)
I love the new theme, and the fact you're doing a proper app, but could you please not forget about the desktop users? :)
It's not a biggie, but the videos are huge if I view the page in the browser... if you could add something like this to your css that would be great!
div.content.clearfix > div > p > div > iframe {
max-width: 500px;
max-height: 281px;
}3 votesWe’ve set the maximum width to be 800px on images and embedded videos.

Is there something that can be done about the rash of obvious spammers joining and friending people?
I've had 6 people start following me this week who are obvious spammers, and there doesn't seem to be any way to avoid, dismiss, or report them.
1 voteWe have removed this spammer. For future reference, you can require all new followers to be approved. In the settings page on the “Social” tab, check “Protect my shared posts”. We’ll continue to monitor for spammers and should the issue continue we’ll work on a solution.

Show shared item source (currently overwritten by sharer's username)
Items I've subscribed to are displayed as:
HEADLINE
Source by AuthorItems that are shared with me are displayed as:
HEADLINE
Username by AuthorThis means if my friend John shares an article from The Onion, I can't tell that it's an article from The Onion because it will look like
PRESIDENT OBAMA RECALLS PICKLES
John by Joe Smithinstead of
PRESIDENT OBAMA RECALLS PICKLES
The Onion by Joe SmithThe item's source should not be obscured. This is valuable information.

Add "1 day" to "mark items as read older than" drop down list
I subscribed to some sites that are updated very often (mostly news sites). I still prefer reading those sites via The Old Reader instead of visiting them manually. But only the articles of today are interesting, so marking all articles that are not from today as read, would be a nice option.
0 votesThis option is now available in the dropdown.

Don't "kill" sponsored posts (allow to be showed again with show all posts).
Sponsored posts are quite targeted and useful (at least to me & till today;) but once are read they are missing and show all posts doesn't show them any more.
I think will be no harm if they are treated same as posts (or keep them in a special folder for future reference)1 voteYou can now see an archive of our Sponsored Posts here:
https://theoldreader.com/posts/sponsored_archive
You can get to it from a link titled “Sponsored Posts” in the drop down when you hover over your user name in the upper right hand corner of the site.

Make default scroll setting to "mark as read in Full View only"
I'm assuming that most people (like me) who use List View don't want articles to be automatically marked as read when we scroll past a list to select what to read.
For me, it's very disconcerting as it's very easy to just scroll through dozens of articles and lose track of what was read/unread.
1 voteThis is already the default setting for new users. However, when we implemented the setting, we left all existing users as “always” as to not change the behavior people were accustomed to.

Fix the 'b' keyboard command
As of recently, pressing 'b' on the keyboard opens in new tab and not in new background tab.
1 voteChrome recently removed the ability to do this in Javascript. However, we’ve worked around the issue using The Old Reader Notifier extension for Chrome. If you install the extension, it will restore the “b” shortcut. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/the-old-reader-notifier/flnadglecinohkbmdpeooblldjpaimpo?hl=en

Confirm button for "mark all as read"
At least three times I've ruined my feeds by accidentally hitting "mark all as read". At the very LEAST there should be a " confirm" prompt - ideally the mark all as read button should be hidden in a menu instead of right where it can be easily fat-fingered and there'd be an undo function.
10 votesThere is now a setting on the users page that will confirm when the “mark all as read” button is pressed.

Pay with PayPal for premium accounts
I want to upgrade to a premium account, but don't have a credit card. Please support additional payment options. Thanks.
16 votesWe’ve just released Paypal payments so you can now checkout securely using Paypal

Allow us to subscribe one year at a time.
For reasons best known to yourselves, you refuse to allow subscriptions or donations via paypal. This has prevented me from doing either so far.
However, I would be willing to use "Stripe" to donate/subscribe, if you'd allow a "one off" mode - I am sure I am not alone in being unwilling to enter a credit card subscription, as I would be dependent on Stripe's goodwill to cancel later. In the UK at least, credit card holders have no way of cancelling a credit card subscription via their own account (weird but true!).
3 votesWe’ve changed the cancellation process so that it doesn’t end the premium subscription immediately, but at the end of the payment period. This will effectively allow you to pay for one year.
Paypal is also a payment option.
