Android
It would be nice if there were an Android app after the iOS app is done. :-)

"Email" button
- maintain a list of email addresses in user settings.
- after user hits the Email button, we should show that list and send a link to the post to the chosen email address.
- we could also make an input field in that list for user to enter any email address

Star entries
Ability to star entries for later reading + sharing (pocket integration is nice but probably no enough i you read your article on pocket then want to share it, wading back through old entries can be painful).
925 votesHooray!

Share to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and others
I think the current sharing functionality can be modified to allow both TOR sharing and other sorts of social sharing. Without knowing your business model, it's difficult to understand if this is against it, but I would expect many users to request this feature (which is already supported by Feedly).
I have seen that you have declined a similar request a month ago. But I believe things have changed quite a bit after Google's announcement and you may want to revisit this topic.

iOS
I really need an iOS app or at least a better working mobile website. Until then it's hard to leave google reader for the old reader :(

Extend keyboard shortcuts
I'd love to be able to exclusively use keyboard shortcuts rather than ever touch the mouse. To that end:
- add a '?' shortcut that gives an overlay describing available shortcuts
- add a shortcut to mark a post unread
297 votesMost of requested shortcuts have been implemented, check out the announcement at http://blog.theoldreader.com/
If you think that more keyboard shortcuts should be added, please create separate feature requests for each additional shortcut. This will allow others to vote and will help us prioritize.
UPD: We also have fixed shortcuts for international layouts and added ‘x’ key to toggle posts in list view.

Click any part of the feed to open it, not just the title.
A small but nice feature of Google Reader is being able to open a feed item by clicking any part of it, not just the title. This allows for faster access and an overall smoother experience.
236 votesThis has been done, please see the announcement at http://blog.theoldreader.com/

Charge for the darn thing if it keeps it from going under.
Look, I don't like paying for things. But I can't keep going through this. If you need people to pay, by gum, let us know.
234 votesDone!

Private accounts
This will allow users to expose their shared items only to a limited number of accounts they choose. So, a user will basically be able to pre-approve his followers.
193 votesThis has now been released. If you go to your settings, you can choose to protect your shared items. If selected, you must approve all new follow requests, and your shared items will not be available to anyone except your followers.
If you “like” a post, your name may still appear on the post for all users.

Allow me to authenticate via Google without giving you any access to my contacts
Checking for other people in my contacts who use The Old Reader is not a core requirement for the product to work, and I don't want you to have my contacts at all.
This pretty much means I can't use your product at all.

Lazy load images in collapsed items
Currently when in list view and all items are collapsed, the post content and images are still loaded inside a hidden div - this means the browser is still downloading all those images though, chewing up bandwidth.
I have a few RSS feeds that are just all embedded GIF files, and loading them all inside the hidden divs almost froze my browser (plust ook 20mb+ bandwidth)
I propose you just lazy load the content in when a collapsed item is expanded.

Windows Phone/Windows 8 RT app
After the iOS or Android app, it would be nice if there is coming a app for Windows Phone and Windows 8 (RT).
