  1. Provide a partial mark-as-read mechanism for list view

    In Google Reader's mobile view, you get essentially a list view, but it only shows 15 posts at a time, and lets you mark just those 15 as read. Something similar is needed for The Old Reader's list view. Either give us the ability to see them in smaller chunks, like Google does, or enable the "scrolling past posts marks them as read" feature for list view as well as full view.   2. Position in import queue not visible any more

    I used to see my position in the import queue. It was once around 30.000. In time it went down to around 12.000. But now, when I click the import link the only thing I see is the following text:

    We find feed import to be quite resource intensive procedure, so our system only allows a limited number of import operations to run at the same time. Currently all available slots are busy, so your import operation will be queued.

    Doesn't indicate any progress and it doesn't look good this way. Please bring back printing the queue position.

  3. Fix an HTML typo on the Import page

    There is a line of text that currently says: "Please usesubscriptions.xml from your takeout archive." ('subscriptions' is in bold).
    Obviously there needs to be a space between 'use' and 'subscriptions'
    ('takeout' may also want a capital letter..?)

  4. Retina resolution Safari icon

    You could rework the Safari icon for your Reader plugin. The icon is lowres and does not support the Retina displays high resolution - so it looks pixelated.

  6. Please fix feed order

    I thing , this is a bug. Feeds are order in random order. Please see in screenshot:

    I think actually order is by the time when feed is loaded. But better order should be by actually post create date.

  7. Minor bug: scrolling to mark as read not working by default

    After opening a feed or folder, scrolling past does not mark items as read or update the unread count in the left sidebar.

    Toggling the 'show all posts'/'show unread only' button after opening a feed DOES seem to tweak something that causes these to start working as expected, but whatever is getting tweaked resets itself again as soon as another feed/folder is clicked. It's slow and hard to remember to do that everytime a new feed is opened.

    Loving the old reader, but having a hard time making it a daily driver until this is fixed - got a lot…

  8. Make the 'Mark All As Read' confirmation prompt optional

    Suddenly clicking Mark All As Read pops up an extra unnecessary confirmation box.

    It would be nice to be able to turn that off, as it is annoying.

  9. Chinese interface

    Would you please provide a Chineses interface? You know many chinese people use GR because it can show feeds outside the Great Fire Wall, and now when we turn to The Old Reader, because you're one of the few RSS readers that can do the same thing, we hope have a familiar interface. Thank you very much!

  10. Make it possible to share posts on Biz pages on Facebook. I really, really need this feature...

    I use a reader to curate posts of interest to my writer community. I must be able to share directly from the reader to my Facebook BIZ page.

  12. Please disable hover on list item - it's kind of distracting

    To scroll through list items you have to have cursor be over them, and there is always hover, which jumping from one to another item. It kind of distracting :(

  13. Do not lock in users!

    Allow users to export their feeds as OPML! This is important. Many users here have bad experience from cloud applications disappearing (i.e. Google Reader), please leave us with a way out from The Old Reader as well. I guess that this will give you more users in the long run.

  14. Display titles in Unicode

    The Dutch soccer website Voetbal International offers a feed with headers using special characters like é, á, ï, ü, etc. These are not displayed correctly, because the titles are not encoded as Unicode on The Old Reader.

  18. Allow moving through feeds without opening items

    Many of the feeds that I subscribe to have fairly high signal-to-noise ratios. As a result, I routinely scroll through the items, marking 50-75% (or more) of them as read before actually opening any of them. Currently, it doesn't appear that The Old Reader can do anything other than browse from the first item incrementally to the end, opening each and every feed item in turn.

  20. Have the ability to import an OPML within a week

    I guess you all are overwhelmed, but it's been a week and I am still tens of thousands from having my OPML imported. Giving up now.

    Actual import speed is quite good, one feed operation usually gets completed within several minutes. However, we have to throttle import operations to avoid overloading our server infrastructure.

    So, unfortunately, current queue processing speed is the highest we can afford at the moment. If the amount of funds raised from the users (see http://blog.theoldreader.com/post/45927021785/sharing-is-sharing) allows, we might be able to bring additional hardware and get feeds imported faster.

    In any case, The Old Reader is fully usable right away, you can add your favorite feeds manually, and start reading, following your friends, sharing, and discussing.
