Hi, thanks for submitting. This is probably best serviced via our help desk if you want to send an email to help at the old reader. Please included an example of a missing article. Likely a recycled GUID on the feed, but we'll take a look to verify. Thanks!

Hello! Is this still an issue for you? We're unable to reproduce. If you'd like, you could send details on your platform and browser to our help address. Can you reproduce this behavior in incognito mode or the like? Thanks!

    Kevin,

The ? and support links are just standard mailto links and we're unable to reproduce any hanging. What browser and platform are you using? Please send that information into help@theoldreader.com

For dark mode, it is currently set up to use the 'd' hotkey which has been causing issues for a few users. We have a confirm on switch now, but we suspect it's interacting with browser plugins or something along those lines in a way that it's still getting triggered. Anyway, we're planning to implement a new lock feature so that users can permanently disable that hotkey. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the suggestion. We've been keeping an eye on this and agree that it would be a promising addition.

There’s now a subscription management page that allows you to unsubscribe from/move your subscriptions. You can get there by clicking on “Subscriptions” in the user name dropdown in the upper right.

Richard Mitnick - You can alphabetize your feeds in settings here: https://theoldreader.com/users/edit - Near the bottom, the setting is "Sort Folders/Feeds Alphabetically"

S - In settings, if you uncheck "Show only those folders/feeds that have unread items" you will see all folders and all subscriptions, whether or not they have unread items.

The button is right below the feed title, and just above the posts. If you still are unable to find if, if you want to open a new ticket at support@theoldreader.com and send a screenshot, we can have a closer look.

Sending starred items to Pocket is already available. If you go to the settings page and then the "Read Later" tab, you can connect your Pocket account directly.

We actually just heard back from them last week after 2 years. We're trying to evaluate whether or not it is worth the cost. They charge us $2500 per year to integrate The Old Reader. What kinds of recipes would you put together if it was available?

There are several services out there that monitor sites for changes and then put those changes into an RSS for you to subscribe to in The Old Reader. If you search Google for "convert website to RSS" you'll see several options.

Just to make sure, you do see our Mark As Read now supports an "Older Than" concept? So you can mark items as read older than 1 week, 1 month or 1 year.

This is for the most part now available with Premium accounts. We store posts up to 6 months old, and the title and body of the post will be in the search index for premium subscribers.

GnorthernGnome - Can you expand on the date ranges and an unread counter concept? I'm not sure I fully understand. Are you suggesting instead of storing read/unread items per user, we should just store the date of the latest post they marked as read and then every time new items are added to that feed, if we increment a counter?

“Refresh all feeds” button can only work in a reasonable amount of time for users that have a very small number of feeds (10-15 at most). An additional requirement will be for RSS feeds that are refreshed to serve their XML files very quickly.

Please keep in mind that voting for this feature, you automatically vote for imposing a very low limit of feed count per user.

Anonymous - If you'd like to send an email to support@theoldreader.com with more information about what app you downloaded as well as the address of the feed that is not updating, we can investigate further.

Rick, you are either deliberately taking "once a day" figure out of context, or you have not read http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/146275-how-often-are-feeds-updated-i-see-some-delays- carefully. Feeds are usually updated twice as often as their new post interval is, so "once a day" only applies to feeds that  on average get less than 4 posts a week. Feeds that support pubsubhubbub (which all high-traffic feeds should aim to support) get updated almost instantly. A small number of feeds still have some fetching issues right now because of the insane rate we had to scale our infrastructure with, but this system works fine for the vast majority of feeds.

As we said previously, for a public service this feature can only work properly for accounts with small number of feeds. If there are heavy users who would like their feeds updated more often, we can discuss deploying a private version of The Old Reader on separate servers just for you. You will have to pay for this, and you will lose all the social features, but we can configure all your feeds to be updated as often as you wish.

Rick, are you serious? Google is multi-billion-dollar corporation with thousands of engineers and millions of servers, and even they found operating Reader so expensive that they decided to close it. Do you really think it's fair to demand "at least" the same performance from three people who do this on their spare time with no budget?

@Sean: good news is, you don't have to. All feeds are refreshed automatically in background.

This is something we've been told is coming in the new version of the Spritz API that is soon to be released. We'll update this ticket once it is available.

Once you turn on Readability integration, anything you star in The Old Reader will be sent there.

Your best bet is probably to request this from Flipboard. Unfortunately we don't have any control over what services they integrate with. We have made it easy for them however, by essentially cloning the Google Reader API.

    Maybe send them some Tweets?
    https://twitter.com/Flipboard

Also, if you're looking for the ability to send posts from The Old Reader to Flipboard, you can do so with the Send To feature and adding a custom option (in settings) with the following url:

    https://share.flipboard.com/bookmarklet/popout?v=2&title=%{title}&url=%{url}

While I do understand that this is a bit grander than Google Alerts, Google Alerts does have the option to deliver to RSS as a feed.
