  2. Pay with PayPal for premium accounts

I want to upgrade to a premium account, but don't have a credit card. Please support additional payment options. Thanks.

  3. Allow us to subscribe one year at a time.

For reasons best known to yourselves, you refuse to allow subscriptions or donations via paypal. This has prevented me from doing either so far.

However, I would be willing to use "Stripe" to donate/subscribe, if you'd allow a "one off" mode - I am sure I am not alone in being unwilling to enter a credit card subscription, as I would be dependent on Stripe's goodwill to cancel later. In the UK at least, credit card holders have no way of cancelling a credit card subscription via their own account (weird but true!).

We’ve changed the cancellation process so that it doesn’t end the premium subscription immediately, but at the end of the payment period. This will effectively allow you to pay for one year.

Paypal is also a payment option.

  4. Make it possible to see full list of feeds

Right now I can only see feeds with unread items in my left hand column. I would like to see all feeds so I can whittle down to <100 Thanks

  5. Notify before deleteing

So i guess all my feeds got "reset" because of this:
    http://theoldreader.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/146276-how-many-posts-per-feed-do-you-store-

You should really notify you users before doing that, I got really annoyed when logging in and all my feeds where reset. Now I don't think i can trust you any more...

  6. Make a way to mark all items as read

I am way behind in looking at my feeds and am overwhelmed by the number of items there are. In Google's Reader there was an overall "Mark as Read" button that applied to ALL the unread items in my feed. I'd like to see something like that so I don't have to click on each feed separately and mark all those items as read. Thanks.

  7. Improve speed

The only problem for me is the speed. Both speed navigating through the feeds categories and speed for geting the feed.

Speed navigation is better now, but still a bit slow comparing to others readers.

So the speed of feed update is the major problem right now.

  8. display articles in order of arrival, not by publication time

I asked about this on the forum and was told "many users" prefer articles ordered by publication time. I find it hard to believe any high volume reader would prefer this. I get hundreds of posts a day, I want to see them all at the top when they arrive, not constantly be scrolling back to find the ones that got fetched hours after they were published.

  9. Reduce delay in posting articles on TOR (make it premium?)

I have noticed a pretty significant delay (many hours) between the posting of an article in the original blog and seeing it on TOR at least for things like Krugman's blog). This is especially annoying for "big" blogs (like Krugman) where I want to get an early comment in, before inundation or even closing of comments. Please optimize this -- it is much worse than Google Reader was. If this requires more computing power, make it a premium feature -- if the price is reasonable ($2-5/mo?) and there are some other useful premium features (like faster opening of the article…

  10. Delete old stuff

I feel that the interface is slow and I suspect the reason is that my feeds have many entries.
I think it would be great if you let me configure on a per feed basis if I want old entries (ones I already read) to be kept or not.
Most of my feeds are about things I don't care about after reading, so I want them to be deleted if that will speed things up

I am trying to unsubscribe from a feed. I get this message:

Could not unsubscribe. Refresh is in progress, please try again later.

Allow me to cancel the refresh so I can unsubscribe.

  13. Make o, v, and b open the selected item, not the topmost visible item.

When you click on an item in the middle of screen, the list scrolls until the item is at the top of the screen. If you then scroll the screen down to show items above the selected item and then hit o, v, or b the topmost item will be opened in a tab instead of the selected item.

  14. Ability to share with followers and not the public

I like the ability to share items publicly, but it would also be nice to only share items with people who follow you, all or specific people.

And it would also be nice if you could prevent people from commenting on your public shared items.

This has now been released. If you go to your settings, you can choose to protect your shared items. If selected, you must approve all new follow requests, and your shared items will not be available to anyone except your followers.

If you “like” a post, your name may still appear on the post for all users.

  15. link accounts

I log-in through Google, but want to link that account to my Facebook account. If I log-in through Facebook, it shows that I have no subscriptions since that account is apparently empty. How to I link the two accounts?

  17. link to share to invite people to follow

Other services have a link and sometimes a graphic that can be posted on a person's blog and will allow readers to follow with one click. Is there such a feature with The Old Reader?

  18. Exporting feeds

Hello! I have imported my feeds from Google Reader. I added some subscriptions. What if I want to export my feeds to another service? Do you have such a feature?

  19. allow me to unsubscribe from feeds

People didn't like the placement of the old "unsubscribe" button. Now, the button seems to be gone entirely. I don't even see an option to re-enable it. Was this intentional?
